Near and Far is a sequel to Above and Below and includes a book of encounters. This time players read over ten game sessions to reach the end of the story. Each chapter is played on a completely new map with unique art and adventures.

Four wanderers search for the Last Ruin, a city that legends say contains an artifact that will grant the greatest desires of the heart. A lost love, redemption, acceptance, a family rejoined, these are the fires that fuel the wanderers' journeys, but can they overcome their own greed and inner demons on the way?

In Near and Far, you and up to three friends explore many different maps in a search for the Last Ruin, recruiting adventurers, hunting for treasure, and competing to be the most storied traveler. You must collect food and equipment at town for long journeys to mysterious locales, making sure not to forget enough weapons to fight off bandits, living statues, and rusty robots! Sometimes in your travels you'll run into something unique and one of your friends will read what happens to you from a book of stories, giving you a choice of how to react, creating a new and memorable tale each time you play.

Each decision you make in the story leads you down a different path, meaning there's always something new to discover in the vast and varied world of Near and Far.

Game Modes
Experience the world of Near and Far by choosing one of four possible game modes.

* First Adventure: Learn to play the game with this standalone map inspired by Above and Below.
* Campaign: Play a series of 10 games on 10 different maps as you journey to the Last Ruin, building experience and buying abilities that last throughout campaign. Explore each map, experiencing stories unique to each location.
* Story: Play a series of 3 to 4 games while following your character's main story, making decisions that will affect your ultimate fate.
* Arcade: Skip the storybook and use a deck of cards, each with a brief encounter and set of choices.

Play through a revolutionary spiral-bound atlas of 11 maps, each one acting as a game board, as you explore the beautiful, diverse, and mysterious world of Arzium.

Can you avoid the sinister gourmand of the Crimson Forest or befriend the six-eyed beasts of the Mammoth Jungle? Or perhaps you'll be lost forever in the hidden pathways of the Cloudy Valley? Choose your character and set out to discover what adventures await you.

This Campaign 2 insert is designed to be compatible with Near and Far, and the Amber Mines expansion. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The rules, books, and boards act as a lid on top of the trays.

There are trays for the player pieces, the character standees and sheets. There are two trays for coins, meaning they can be spread around the table making access easier. The coin trays are sufficiently large for the metal coins should you have them. Each player has their own tray for their colour.

These are the four resource trays, with separate slots for each kind of token and the dice and stands.

These are the trays for the small cards. There is space again for all cards to be sleeved with quality sleeves. The trays allow for the Amber Mines® expansion small cards.

The game boards, rules and storybook fit in a recess on top of the lower trays. The rulebook goes first, which provides space for the ring binder on the storybook to go next. The storybook is followed by the game board and player boards, and then by the Amber Mines rulebook and the board overlays.

Last goes the game atlas, which fills the top of the box, acting as a lid on all the trays below. There is a gap next to the rules underneath that allows the ring binder to not impact on the box lid when closed. The game can be stored vertically, and transported safely provided the lid is kept in place.

This product consists of a flat-pack of 4 Evacore sheets. The trays require assembly, which is quick and fun, using ordinary PVA glue. Detailed instructions are included in the package.
