Existenz: On the Ruins of Chaos is a story based card and board game in which you control a life base: your brave band of survivors. Seeking refuge from the dangers of Mount Vargah, located on the center of the board, you make your way across the dotted routes towards the relative safety of a victory point. However, since your opponents will try to do the same, another way to ensure victory would be to destroy their life base. You achieve this by playing your cards in order to gather resources, summon powerful allies, and cast dangerous fluxes or catalysts.
“Centuries have passed, this is the New Era. We rebuilt civilization on the ruins of Chaos. However, our constant struggle for survival and precious energy crystals soon divided us into factions. This conflict was centered on the slopes of Mount Vargah, prime harvesting ground of magical resources. To our surprise and dismay, this hostile volcanic land has now exploded in protest. Furious lava creatures rise from the molten stone to fight each faction, forcing them to flee and seek refuge in their homelands beyond the outer regions.”
