Star Wars Destiny: 2-Player Game
Star Wars Destiny: 2-Player Game

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Star Wars: Destiny Two-Player Game, available September 1st (only in USA on that date though) in celebration of Force Friday II!

The box contains two playable decks featuring some brand new cards inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The Star Wars: Destiny Two-Player Game puts you in an epic battle as Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma challenge heroes Rey and Poe using the fast-paced and easy-to-learn Star Wars: Destiny system. The first player to deplete the health of their opponents through melee and ranged attacks wins the game!

The Star Wars: Destiny Two-Player Game features two twenty-three card decks, rules, and all the resource, shield, and damage tokens needed for a game of Star Wars: Destiny, allowing you and a friend to begin playing almost immediately!

Forces of Order
The Star Wars: Destiny Two-Player Game features a mix of previously released Destiny cards and brand new characters, upgrades, supports, battlefields, and events. These brand new cards include events and characters inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi!

The 23-card Villain deck features new versions of both Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma. Kylo Ren, Tormented One (Two-Player Game, 1) costs fourteen points for a regular version or seventeen for an elite. With three sides showing melee damage, this version of Kylo Ren can act as your primary damage dealer while also providing a disrupt and resource side. Kylo’s special ability is a twist on his Awakenings counterpart, letting you choose a color as you activate him and then looking at a random card in an opponent’s hand. If the color of the card matches the color you named, you deal two damage to a character. Not only does this let you deal damage to a character without using up an action, card, or die, it lets you get a glimpse of your opponent’s hand, letting you know if they have any tricks up their sleeve.

Kylo Ren is paired with a new version of Captain Phasma, the Ruthless Tactician (Two-Player Game, 2). Phasma’s die features two ranged damage sides, a focus side, a resource side, and a special symbol. The symbol allows you to deal two damage to a character, or three if that character has six or more damage on it. This can allow Phasma to deliver the final blow to characters already near defeat, and with three sides of her die dealing damage, Phasma has little issue getting characters to that point.

The villain deck also features these characters’ signature weapons. Captain Phasma's Blaster (Two-Player Game, 4) is a unique weapon with three sides showing ranged damage, one showing modified range damage, and another showing a resource. While this already synergizes well with Captain Phasma’s ranged damage sides, the blaster also gains the Redeploy keyword if it is used to upgrade Phasma herself. This does not just apply to the Ruthless Tactician, but can be used with her Elite Trooper (Awakenings, 1) version as well.

Kylo Ren’s Crossguard Lightsaber (Two-Player Game, 7) is also included in the villain deck. For two resources, the weapon features a melee damage side, a modified melee damage side, a shield, a resource, and a special symbol. The symbol allows you to deal two damage to a character, or three damage if that character has one or more shields. This makes the lightsaber one of the more dangerous weapons in the game, and if it is used on Kylo Ren, you may deal one damage to a character when you attach it, making it even more of a threat.

Attaching Kylo Ren with Force Stasis (Two-Player Game, 8) can greatly increase his threat as well. Not only does the two-cost upgrade provide a disrupt, shield, and resource symbol, but two of its sides are dedicated to special symbols. These symbols both allow you to remove a die showing ranged damage and deal one damage to a character. This enhances the theme of free damage while protecting your own characters.

If one of your characters becomes a target for your opponent, attaching Praetorian Guard (Two-Player Game, 5) on the other may be an effective play. Not only does Praetorian Guard feature two melee damage sides, a modified melee side, a shield, and a resource, but it also gives the attached character the Guardian keyword. This means that before you activate that character, you may remove a die showing damage to deal that damage to that character. This can take the pressure off one of your other characters while forcing your opponent to use dice in sub-optimal ways.

Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma excel at dealing damage to opposing characters along multiple avenues, and this is exemplified in the villains’ battlefield of choice: Hangar Bay (Two-Player Game, 23). When you claim Hangar Bay, you may reveal the top card of an opponent’s deck, if that card is an event or support, you may deal one damage to a character. Like Kylo himself, this allows you to both deal damage to a character while getting a clear view of what tricks an opponent has coming up.

Beacons of Light
Opposing the forces of the First Order are new versions of heroes Poe Dameron and Rey.

Rey, Finding The Ways (Two-Player Game, 24) costs twelve points for a normal version or fifteen for an elite. Featuring two melee damage sides, a discard, a shield, and a resource, Rey’s die is extremely versatile. Whenever you activate Rey, if she has a shield, you may deal one damage to a character. Like Kylo Ren, this allows you to damage your opponent without having to use a card, action, or die of any kind.

Keeping a shield on Rey is essential to using her to a full potential, and Poe Dameron, More Than a Pilot (Two-Player Game, 25) is the perfect character to ensure she remains well-shielded. This version of Poe costs eleven points for a normal version and fifteen for an elite. His die features two ranged damage sides, a focus side, a resource, and a special symbol. This symbol allows you to give a character one shield, and turn another die to any side. This can be used to turn your own die to the perfect side, or an opponent’s die to a side of little use. This versatility is nearly unmatched anywhere else in Destiny!

Rey’s signature weapon can also be used to provide shields. Rey's Lightsaber (Two-player Game, 30) is a three-cost weapon that features two melee damage sides, a modified melee damage side, a shield, and a resource. Not only does this lightsaber have the Redeploy keyword, it also gives the attached character a shield after you play it, or two shields if the attached character is Rey. This protect the wielder from damage, but it also gives Rey ample shields to use her ability.

Of course, the heroes need other ways of dealing damage, and one of the best is through Poe Dameron's Blaster (Two-Player Game, 29). Poe Dameron’s Blaster features a ranged damage side, a modified ranged damage side, a disrupt side, a resource side, and a special symbol. The symbol allows you to deal two damage to a character, or three instead if attached character is Poe Dameron. Poe Dameron’s Blaster is one of the biggest threats on the battlefield, and can ensure you are damaging your opponent’s characters while protecting your own.

If you are looking for even more ranged damage, Strike Team (Two-Player Game, 27) is an expensive support at a cost of five resources, but boasts three die sides that show ranged damage, one side showing modified ranged damage, and a disrupt symbol. The cost can be decreased if your opponent has three or more resources, making it a more manageable investment if you bide your time. And with the Ambush keyword, you can even take an additional action after playing it, which can include activating it.

Equipping Rey or Poe with Inner Strength (Two-Player Game, 31) can ensure they remain on the board and fighting for the Resistance. The two-cost upgrade features a focus symbol, a shield symbol, a resource symbol, and two special symbols. These symbols allow you to move a damage from the attached character to a character with no shields. This can continually “heal” your characters while putting damage on opposing characters.

The hero deck’s battlefield, Obi-Wan's Hut (Two-Player Starter, 46), also reinforces the shield theme of the deck. When claimed, you may give a Blue character one shield or pay one resource to give a non-Blue character a shield. This makes Rey an ideal target, and can limit your opponent’s options when they claim the battlefield, especially if they don’t have a Blue character.

Innovative gameplay blends dice and cards as you strategize exactly how to defeat your opponent’s characters. Finally, the game’s collectible model invites you to enter the game at whatever pace you choose, tweaking your decks with the addition of new cards and dice from booster packs.

One Galaxy, Countless Heroes
Star Wars: Destiny offers you a game that truly spans the entire Star Wars canon—from the opening crawl of The Phantom Menace to the dramatic reveal of Luke Skywalker at the end of The Force Awakens.

Dozens of characters join the battle from across the Star Wars galaxy, and before your game begins, you’ll gather a team of iconic heroes or villains to face your enemies on the field of battle. The only rule is that your team cannot include both heroes and villains fighting alongside each other!

Both heroes and villains are divided into three distinct factions: Force, Command, and Rogue. You may learn the ways of the Force alongside characters like Count Dooku (Awakenings, 9) or Luke Skywalker (Awakenings, 35). You can take command of a military machine with Captain Phasma (Awakenings, 1) or Leia Organa (Awakenings, 28). Or, you can become a rogue and make your own way in the galaxy by choosing characters like Jango Fett (Awakenings, 21) or Finn (Awakenings, 45).

The saga-spanning nature of Star Wars: Destiny invites you to stage countless “what if” battles between your favorite heroes and villains. You’ll choose your team from these characters, and they also form the crux of your strategy. Each character has its health listed in the upper right-hand corner of the card. If you deal enough damage to defeat a character, that character is removed from the game, and if you defeat all of your opponent’s characters, you win! Though your objective is easy to understand, it’s difficult to achieve, and you have plenty of ways to disrupt your opponent’s plans.

Your primary way to attack your enemies is by using the premium dice that correspond to your characters. You and your opponent will alternate taking turns, spending your dice to damage your enemies, shield your own characters, gain resources, manipulate the dice, and trigger special abilities.

Support Your Team
In addition to your characters and their dice, you also have a thirty-card deck of event, support, and upgrade cards that you’ll use to enhance your characters and turn the tables in your favor. Events like The Best Defense… (Awakenings, 75) are played from your hand to immediately alter your fortunes, whereas upgrades are permanently attached to your characters to enhance their personal abilities. Support cards like the Millennium Falcon (Awakenings, 49) also remain in play, but they are not tied to any one character, meaning they won’t leave play if one of your characters is defeated.

Many upgrade cards and support cards also have corresponding dice. Whenever you play these cards from your hand, you’ll take the card’s die and place it on the card. Then, you’ll be able to use that die to battle your opponent in future rounds. Gaining more dice is crucial to increasing your team’s prowess and an event can quickly turn a bad situation into victory, so you must carefully consider which events, supports, and upgrades to include in your deck.

There’s one more card in Star Wars: Destiny that can shape the entire game: the battlefield. You and your opponent each bring a battlefield to your game, and before the first turn, there’s a roll-off to decide which battlefield will set the stage for your duels. During the game, you may claim the battlefield as an action, taking the card and placing it in front of you. If you claim the battlefield, you trigger its power and guarantee that you’ll have initiative next round, but you also forfeit your ability to take any more actions for the duration of this round! Deciding when to claim the battlefield and if it’s worth sacrificing part of your turn is a crucial piece of strategy in every game of Destiny.

Why collectible?
About the collectible model of Star Wars: Destiny, game designer Lukas Litzsinger said, “We haven’t made a collectible game in years, even though many gamers enjoy this format’s aspects of discovery and trading. Star Wars: Destiny is a game that could only exist within this category, and we’re excited to reenter the collectible marketplace and start supporting fans of this genre once more.”

Two starter sets offer an entry point to your games of Star Wars: Destiny—the Kylo Ren Starter Set and the Rey Starter Set. Each of these starter sets offers a fixed set of twenty-four cards with nine premium dice, a rulesheet, and all the tokens you need for one player to begin playing. Whether you cast your fortunes with Kylo Ren and the First Order or search for truth and purpose alongside Rey, these starter sets offer the ideal starting point for you and a friend to start enjoying Destiny.

Once you’ve gotten your starter set, you’ll want to add to your forces with new events, upgrades, supports, and characters. You can find all of these by growing your collection with randomized booster packs from the Awakenings set. Each booster pack offers five cards, one of which features a corresponding premium die included in the booster pack. These randomized booster packs allow you to enter the game at your own pace and invite you to experience the thrill of discovery or search for a particularly rare card.

What makes the dice different?
Unlike many games, the dice in Star Wars: Destiny do not use stickers. Instead, the dice are plastic-injected like normal dice and rolled in a tumbler to add a fine, smooth polish to every die. The images on each side are then physically heat-pressed onto the dice, essentially printing the artwork directly onto the plastic. Finally, the die is covered in a scratch-resistant coating, allowing you to roll these dice without their quality deteriorating.

It Is Your Destiny
From the Trade Federation’s blockade of Naboo to the Resistance’s heroic attack on Starkiller Base, there’s no part of the Star Wars saga that you can’t encounter in Star Wars: Destiny. Choose your team of characters and grab your dice—you can demo Star Wars: Destiny next week at Gen Con Indy 2016! What’s more, we’ll have two exclusive, extended-art promotional cards (shown below) for you to pick up after a demo of the game. Choose your side carefully: each player will only receive the promo card that corresponds to the side played in the demo.

• The perfect place to begin growing your Star Wars: Destiny collection
• An innovative mixture of cards and dice makes every game a different experience
• Spans the Star Wars saga from The Phantom Menace to The Force Awakens
• Offers five randomized cards and one premium die paired with a card in the pack

Star Wars Destiny: Empire at War Booster Pack
Star Wars Destiny: Empire at War Booster Pack

The third set of booster packs for Star Wars: Destiny!

From the Clone Wars to the rise of the First Order, the Star Wars galaxy is in a constant state of turmoil. When villains look to impose their oppressive wills upon the galaxy, heroes will dutifully rise to defend their freedoms, even if it means war.

Empire at War emulates the chaos found in the Star Wars galaxy during its darkest times with themes that disrupt your opponent’s board and decimate their best laid plans. These 160 brand-new cards will focus on taking core concepts of Star Wars: Destiny and throwing them into disarray.

Just like Spirit of Rebellion brought the characters of Rogue One to players’ games, Empire at War brings the thrilling action of Star Wars Rebels to the tabletop. Join the crew of the Ghost and their adversaries as they join the epic duels taking place across every era of the Star Wars saga.

A Master Strategist
Few of the Empire's Grand Admirals are as efficent and talented as Thrawn (Empire at War, 4). Hunting down the Empire’s enemies through studying their culture and art, Thrawn is one of the fiercest assets Emperor Palpatine has under his command.

Now, Thrawn brings his strategic mind to Star Wars: Destiny, at fourteen points for a normal version or seventeen for an elite. The Grand Admiral’s die features two focus symbols, ensuring players will be in control of their destiny, even in the most chaotic of times. His die is further rounded out by disrupt, shield, and resource symbols. Furthermore, Thrawn’s ability shows off the disruptive themes of Empire at War—every time a player activates Thrawn, they may name a number, then view their opponents hand and discard a card that costs that amount. If players know what their opponent is thinking, Thrawn provides the perfect tool to disrupt their plans, discarding key cards and getting a view of things to come. An elite Thrawn can be paired with an elite Kylo Ren (Awakenings,11) for consistant views of your opponent's hand. Cards viewed with Kylo Ren's special ability are easy fodder for Thrawn to target.

Amid the chaos of an Empire at War, Thrawn stands supreme as a commander in control. His two focus symbols ensure everything will go according to plan, and with twelve health, Thrawn will be a difficult foe to take down.

Like Thrawn, Red villains in Empire at War will earn victory through careful preparation and an efficient use of resources. Prepare for War (Empire at War, 65) gives you a free resource when playing it as the first action taken during the turn, meaning planning ahead will be essential in order to use the benefit effectively. Red villains will also turn resource costs to their advantage with cards like Ruthless Tactics (Empire at War, 67), which allows them to increase the value of a die by the resource cost showing on it.

Even previous sure-things in Star Wars: Destiny are thrown into turmoil in Empire at War, with cards like The Day is Ours (Empire at War, 125), Red characters can clinch victory away from their enemies by claiming the battlefield, even after their opponent has already claimed it. Not only will they get to use the claim ability of the battlefield, but their opponent, who was planning to go first during the next round, now must readjust their plans.

Spark of Rebellion
With an Empire at War, survival becomes key for the citizens of the galaxy. Yellow characters use their wits and tricks to ensure they not only survive in a tumultuous time of war, but come out ahead.

In the early days of the Rebellion, Ezra Bridger (Empire at War, 38) emerged as a natural-born hero. Along with the crew of the Ghost, Ezra helped disparate cells of the Rebellion come together, and now brings the fight to Star Wars: Destiny.

At only seven points for a normal version, or ten points for an elite, Ezra is one of the most affordable heroes in the game. Being Force-sensitive, Ezra can use Blue upgrades normally only reserved for Blue characters, including the powerful Force Speed (Spirit of Rebellion, 55).

Ezra also exhibits the resourcefulness of Yellow heroes, with a special ability on his die that takes a resource from your opponent. The rest of his die is rounded out by a resource symbol, a disrupt symbol, a ranged damage symbol, and a modified ranged damage symbol, giving him a mix of damage and support abilities, and making him well worth his meager cost.

Though Ezra only has seven health, new Yellow cards will help him survive the duels to come. Quick Escape (Empire at War, 113) has to be the last action you take on a turn, but allows you to remove two dice showing damage, ensuring your heroes will live to fight another day.

A True Champion
Though Empire at War focuses on bringing the characters of Star Wars Rebels to players’ tabletop, it still features iconic characters from every era of the Star Wars saga.

Before the Ghost crew rebelled against the Empire, the Republic was defended by the Jedi Order. Among the greatest of these warriors was Mace Windu (Empire at War, 34), Jedi Champion.

At sixteen points for a normal version or twenty-two for an elite, Mace Windu is one of the most powerful Blue heroes in the game. With three die sides showing melee damage, one of which deals a massive four damage, Mace Windu is a consistent threat to any opponent.

When he has his opponent at the brink of defeat, Mace is an expert at delivering the final blow. With the ability to remove his character die to defeat a character that has two or less health, no amount of shields will protect Mace’s enemies from his iconic lightsaber.

While Mace Windu is a master on the battlefield, he also serves a role as a Master of the Council (Empire at War, 36), a powerful upgrade perfectly suited for Mace. The modified melee damage can potentially double Mace’s already impressive damage output, and with a special ability that allows you to spend two resources to ready a character, Master of the Council is one of the most threatening cards in the game.

The Chaos of War
With an Empire at War, the heroes and villains of the Star Wars galaxy will have to pull out all the stops to achieve victory. And with new Empire at War boosters, Star Wars: Destiny players will have all the tricks they need to disrupt their opponents’ plans.

• Featuring characters like Thrawn, Ezra Bridger, and Sabine Wren, Empire at War brings the cast of Star Wars Rebels to your tabletop
• 160 brand-new cards expand your Star Wars: Destiny collection
• Empire at War features characters and locations spanning the entire Star Wars saga
• Features new character, support, upgrade, and event cards focused on disrupting your opponent’s strategies

Since Awakenings was released in 2016, Star Wars: Destiny has grown and evolved through Spirit of Rebellion and Empire at War. Players have engaged in duels with characters spanning the entire Star Wars saga. Now, it’s time to find a different path to your destiny.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to present the Star Wars: Destiny Rivals Draft Set, the backbone of a brand-new way to play Star Wars: Destiny.

The Star Wars: Destiny Rivals Draft Set introduces a new way to play Destiny in the form of draft and sealed events. Playing in a draft requires each player to have one Rivals Draft Set and six Star Wars: Destiny booster packs of any set. What's more, the cards in your Rivals Draft Set are completely reusable—no matter how many drafts you play, you'll only ever need to buy a single copy of the Rivals Draft Set to enable your draft games of Star Wars: Destiny!

No Such Thing as Luck
During a Star Wars: Destiny draft event, every player will open three booster packs and combine the cards into a single pack. Then, every player will select a single card from the pack and pass the remaining cards to their left for the next player to select a single card before passing the pack on again. Once all of these cards have all been selected, the next three packs are opened and players draft cards again, passing in the opposite direction. When the draft is finished, you and each of your fellow players will have thirty cards from the booster packs and the twenty cards featured in their Rivals Draft Set to construct a deck of twenty to thirty cards. In the draft format, you can add as many copies of a card to a deck as you want, even crossing the boundaries of morality to mix hero, villain, and neutral cards in the same deck.

In a draft, each player needs a Star Wars: Destiny Rivals Draft Set and six Star Wars: Destiny booster packs. In the sealed format, every player needs a Star Wars: Destiny Rivals Draft Set and eight Destiny booster packs.

A sealed event works similarly to a draft. Every player starts with eight booster packs and opens all of them, ending up with forty cards from the booster packs and the twenty cards in the Star Wars: Destiny Rivals Draft Set to construct a deck.

The twenty cards within the Rivals Draft Set are meant to supplement the cards you draft from Booster Packs. With characters, supports, upgrades, and events of every color, the Rivals Draft Set gives you all the tools you need to construct a successful deck. What's more, every card featured in Rivals is legal for constructed play in Destiny, making this a great way to expand your collection. In addition, the cards in your Rivals Draft Set can be reused from game to game—so no matter how many draft games you play, you'll only ever need a single copy of the Rivals Draft Set!

The Space Between
Should you choose to draft heavy into blue but are missing a solid character, Rivals introduces Anakin Skywalker, Conflicted Apprentice (Rivals, 1). Anakin Skywalker represents the conflict between the light and dark found in all characters in Rivals. As a neutral character, Anakin can be built with an exclusively hero or exclusively villain deck in constructed play, and gains distinct advantages for each, letting either his protective nature or inner rage shine through. Anakin can be used as a hero, teamed up with characters like Rey, Finding the Ways (Two-Player Starter, 24) to provide a steady stream of shields or with Villains like Captain Phasma, Ruthless Tactician (Two-Player Starter, 2) to create a team focused on pure damage. Anakin can slot into a hero or villain deck perfectly in constructed play, and his presence can be used to add in powerful blue cards during draft play.

But perhaps you went a different direction with your draft, and you need a Red character to fill out your drafted deck. Lobot, Cyborg Aide (Rivals, 2) might be exactly what you are looking for. His special symbol allows you to resolve one of your dice, increasing its value by two. Furthermore, while you control the battlefield, Lobot gains the Guardian Keyword. With the Guardian ability and the potential to boost the value of other dice, Lobot is a great support character used the fuel the abilities of more expensive characters. If you find you have drafted a powerful fifteen-to-twenty point character with plenty of damage like Mace Windu (Empire at War, 34), Lobot may be a solid choice to add protection and additional damage to your team.

Players looking to build a trickier deck can find Ketsu Onyo, Black Sun Operative (Rivals, 3) in Rivals. Before one of your characters is defeated, you can move a Weapon from that character to Ketsu. This essentially gives all of your Weapon cards the redeploy keyword if your opponent chooses to focus damage on another one of your characters. Teaming up Ketsu with characters like Rey, Force Prodigy (Awakenings, 28) can allow you to take full advantage of Rey's ability, while ensuring any Weapon you equip her with will be around until the end of the game, moved to Ketsu in case of Rey's defeat. This makes Ketsu Onyo an aggressive support, able to deal damage when needed and ideally getting a boost when your other characters are defeated.

Along with neutral characters, Rivals introduces another first to Star Wars: Destiny in the form of a Gray character. It’s possible that when drafting you may come up just a little short of your full, thirty point allotment. This is where the Jawa Scavenger (Rivals, 4) comes into play. At only six points, the Scavenger can give your team the extra strength they need to succeed, and after you activate the Scavenger, you may discard a support or upgrade that costs two or more to gain a resource. While the Scavenger’s die may not hit consistently with two blank sides, their ability to convert your cards into resources can help fuel your deck’s resource engine and give you the tools you need to play high-costed cards.

The Jawa Scavenger is also currently the only card that can allow you to play Resourceful (Rivals, 13), which can only be used if you spot a Gray character. Resourceful lets you remove one of your character dice to gain one resource. If you rolled a blank (something that's especially likely with the Jawa Scavenger), this can be a way to scavenge something from a bad result and turn that blank into something useful for future rounds.

A New Path
With the Star Wars: Destiny Rivals Draft Set, your destiny is in your hands. The set features a fresh new way to play Destiny and features cards that will become staples in constructed play.

Star Wars Destiny: Spark of Hope Booster Pack
Star Wars Destiny: Spark of Hope Booster Pack

A 160-card set of booster packs for Star Wars: Destiny!

Even in the darkest of times, the spark of hope can be found in the Star Wars galaxy, lit by those who dream of a better life. In the era of the Clone Wars, Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi fought against the darkness of the Separatist army. Later, charismatic leaders like Jyn Erso and Luke Skywalker led a tiny band of Rebels against a Galactic Empire, and when the First Order rose to power, the Resistance stood up as the spark of hope that would burn it down.

Spark of Hope continues the themes introduced in Convergence, with an emphasis on subtypes, downgrades, and new plots that change the way you construct your deck! Look for Red villain cards that empty your opponent’s hand, a new set of moves and masteries for Blue heroes, powerful new bounty hunters bringing their skills to Yellow villains, and more!

The Smallest Detail
Few in the galaxy are as versed in the art of war as Thrawn (Spark of Hope, 23). Always three steps ahead, the Grand Admiral enters every battle fully prepared for all of his opponent’s moves. Thrawn is a Red villain character who gets a view of the top four cards of your opponent’s deck every time he activates. This ability provides valuable information, especially for Thrawn’s Power Action, which allows you to use an event from the top four cards of your opponent’s deck as if it was in your hand. Not only will this deny your opponent an important event, it also lets you use their powerful abilities as your own.

The information Thrawn provides can be invaluable to his plans. With the Mastermind (Spark of Hope, 36) upgrade, you can wait for your opponent to draw the revealed cards, then use Mastermind’s special to discard the most important one from their hand. Picking apart your opponent’s strategy and the vital pieces of their deck is powerful, and it is essential to Thrawn tearing apart his opponents, piece by piece.

While Cultural Records (Spark of Hope, 31) costs an extra resource over Mastermind, it also lets you remove your opponent’s cards while gaining a distinct advantage. By using Cultural Record’s special, you may remove a card from your opponent’s hand and then gain a resource or remove a die every time a copy of that card is played. Through gaining a deeper understanding of your opponent’s tactics and resources, you can turn their tools to your own advantage with Thrawn and his unique set of supports and upgrades.

Bound by the Force
Rey is not the scavenger she once was. Her connection to the Force has grown and the tutelage of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker has broadened her horizons and expanded her skills beyond her wildest expectations.

Rey, Bound by the Force’s (Spark of Hope, 57) special ability is one of the most defensive in the game, allowing you to give a character two shields, then rerolling Rey's die if that character has three or more shields. With two melee damage sides, Rey can quickly go from providing cover to battling a foe. Furthermore, her Power Action lets you to reroll a character die, or turn a villain character die to a side with a value of zero, most likely a blank. This new version of Rey is undeniably versatile, helping you to mitigate your opponent’s dice, protect your characters, and defeat your opponent's forces with melee damage.

As Rey grows in power, so to does servant of the dark side Kylo Ren (Spark of Hope, 2). Kylo Ren mirrors Rey’s stats as an eleven or fifteen cost character with eleven health. His special symbol deals two damage to a character, and if any of it was blocked, you may reroll Kylo’s die into your pool. You can set up this interaction with Kylo’s Power Action, which moves one shield from him to another character, and then deals one damage to a character if the shield was put on a hero.

While Rey and Kylo Ren would synergize well on a team, their hero and villain affiliations prevent them from teaming up… unless a Temporary Truce (Spark of Hope, 119) can be established. This zero-point plot allows you to create a team exclusively with Rey and Kylo Ren, whose elite versions conveniently add up to exactly 30 points. Your deck can also include both hero and villain cards, but the young Force users will have to rely on Blue cards to achieve victory, since Gray cards cannot be included in your deck.

This team-up completely recontextualizes Rey’s Power Action, allowing her to turn Kylo’s die to its special symbol every turn. It is also greatly increases the value of Kylo’s Power Action, returning the shields Rey provides back to her and dealing damage to his enemies in the process. While they may use different sides of the Force, a temporary truce can form one of the most powerful teams in the galaxy.

Support of the Tribe
While Spark of Hope expands on the themes introduced in Convergence, it also introduces exciting new mechanics, including the game's first diceless characters! These characters often have a small point cost, can still be attached with upgrades and downgrades, while also providing some kind of bonus when they are activated.

The Ewoks may seem to be a primitive folk, but when they band together, they have the strength to topple Empires. The Ewok Warrior (Spark of Hope, 95) can be added to your team for four points, so long as you have a unique Ewok character. Furthermore, every time you activate an Ewok Warrior, you can deal one indirect damage to your opponent. If the unique Ewok on your team is Chief Chirpa (Spark of Hope, 93), you can even add an additional Ewok Warrior to your ranks! This means your team can consist of Chief Chirpa and six Ewok Warriors, or an elite Chief Chirpa, five Ewok Warriors, and a plot!

While individually these warriors may struggle, working as a tribe provides plenty of advantages. Chief Chirpa’s special ability is more damaging when you spot four Ewoks, and the indirect damage these warriors can pump out becomes intimidating as you activate more and more of them. Ewok Ambush (Spark of Hope, 101) lets you activate three of your Ewoks at once, potentially dealing three indirect damage to your opponent and giving you an additional action. Though the Ewok Warriors have no die, they can still be upgraded with weapons like the Ewok Bow (Spark of Hope, 107), which can be transferred from character to character if used with a team of Ewoks.

And while your initial team may not have much staying power with only four health each, Chief Chirpa’s Hut (Spark of Hope, 105) lets you use your resources to add additional Ewok Warriors to your team! The Ewoks may be underestimated, but with pure numbers can overwhelm their foes.

Spark a Rebellion
The spark of hope has been ignited throughout the galaxy. Will you extinguish it with Grand Admiral Thrawn, or use it to help fuel a Rebellion with Chief Chirpa and the Ewoks? Or will you find your own path with Rey and Kylo Ren?

Star Wars Destiny: Spirit of Rebellion Booster Pack
Star Wars Destiny: Spirit of Rebellion Booster Pack

The second set of booster packs for Star Wars: Destiny!

The Star Wars saga has always centered on the timeless struggle between good and evil. At different points throughout the saga, evil may be lurking in the shadows or controlling an oppressive, galaxy-spanning Empire. Yet there must always be balance in the Force, and whenever the dark side rises, a spirit of rebellion begins to light the way forward.

With the new Spirit of Rebellion Booster Packs for Star Wars: Destiny, 160 brand-new cards enter the game, incorporating elements from every movie in the saga, but with a special focus on the newest Star Wars movie: Rogue One. You’ll find plenty of characters from Rogue One within this set, including Jyn Erso, Chirrut Îmwe, Mon Mothma, and Director Krennic, alongside other iconic characters from across the Star Wars story. The spirit of rebellion has ignited—prepare to bring the feverish battles and kinetic action of Rogue One to your games of Star Wars: Destiny!

I Rebel
It’s not just new cards that you’ll find within the Spirit of Rebellion set. The focus of many dice has changed as well, introducing dice that are more tightly focused on a single strategy. This new strategic focus can be seen just by looking at Jyn Erso (Spirit of Rebellion, 44). Jyn’s die features two ranged damage results, two discard results, a resource, and a blank. Whether you’re looking to reliably strip cards from your opponent’s hand or deal ranged damage, you can count on Jyn Erso to frequently provide the results that you’re looking for.

As you aid the Rebel Alliance with Jyn Erso, you can also see her relentless drive and fearless improvisation represented by her ability—the cost of the first Yellow event you play each round is reduced by one. Obviously, this can save you a significant number of resources over the course of the game, and Yellow events are well known for their unorthodox, unexpected effects.

For instance, Jyn Erso might embody the reckless spirit of a certain smuggler when you play Never Tell Me the Odds (Spirit of Rebellion, 115). This event still costs two resources with Jyn’s reduction, but it effectively lets you make your own luck—you’ll simply choose one of your Yellow characters and turn any number of its character and upgrade dice to sides of your choice! And of course, this event and cards like it add another layer of consistency to the way your deck performs in every game.

Building a Superweapon
In her own words, Jyn Erso is a rebel. A rebel can’t exist in a vacuum, through. She needs something to stand against—someone to oppose, someone to battle. In Rogue One, this is none other than Director Krennic, the brilliant mind behind the construction of the first Death Star. While Jyn Erso has joined the Yellow faction with other smugglers, scoundrels, rogues, and dissidents, Director Krennic is firmly ensconced in the Red faction: the home of military law and strict order.

Director Krennic (Spirit of Rebellion, 3) is the consummate commander during your games of Star Wars: Destiny. With twelve health, he’s already harder to kill than most characters, and his die gives you a variety of offensive effects, including damage, disrupting your opponent’s resources, and discarding your opponent’s cards. What’s more, your enemies will quickly find that Director Krennic never fights alone. After you activate Director Krennic, if you control the battlefield, you can roll a Death Trooper (Spirit of Rebellion, 1) die into your pool. With a truly significant amount of ranged damage, even a single Death Trooper die could have a potent impact on the outcome of the battle.

As the Spirit of Rebellion set introduces dice that can offer more dependable results, you’ll find other cards that play off of the results showing on your dice. For instance, if your heroes are specialized in dealing ranged damage consistently, you may choose to launch a Rebel Assault (Spirit of Rebellion, 94). This event is free to play, and allows you to remove one of your opponent’s dice that is not showing damage—the only catch is that you must have one or more dice showing ranged damage to play this event.

You’ll find a similar take on the same idea with support cards like Your Eyes Can Deceive You (Spirit of Rebellion, 107). After one of your dice rolls a shield, you can exhaust this support to turn an opponent’s die to any side! If your deck focuses on shields, perhaps using Qui-Gon Jinn (Awakenings, 37) or Diplomatic Immunity (Awakenings, 50), then this support provides a crucial measure of dice control, whether you’re attempting to steal the Death Star plans or launching an assault of Starkiller Base.

Galactic Emperor
Though Jyn Erso and other heroes may battle adversaries like Director Krennic, Darth Vader, or Jango Fett, there has been a single dark figure guiding the forces of evil from The Phantom Menace until the end of Return of the Jedi. That figure, of course, is none other than Palpatine (Spirit of Rebellion, 11), the Emperor of the Galactic Empire and Dark Lord of the Sith.

Palpatine’s terrifying presence and mastery of the dark side are unmatched, and in fact, you could choose to make Palpatine your entire team. Coming in at twenty-eight points for his elite version, Palpatine would be the only character on your team—but he has more than enough power to back this up.

With fifteen health, Palpatine is already the toughest character in the game, and his dice are equally dangerous. He can deal significant ranged damage, discard your opponent’s cards, shield himself, or earn you resources—but more importantly, every die you resolve accelerates you towards victory. That’s because Palpatine’s ability reads, “After you resolve this die, force an opponent to deal 2 damage to their characters, distributed as they wish.” With every die dealing two more damage to your opponent’s characters, time is always running out for your enemies.

And if you thought that Palpatine was dangerous on his own, wait until you attach Force Lightning (Spirit of Rebellion, 14)! This Blue upgrade deals damage on five of its six sides, making it one of the most consistent damage-dealing dice in the game. What’s more, when you roll the special result, you can deal one damage to a character, remove a die showing a blank (yours or an opponent’s) and reroll the Force Lightning die instead of removing it from your pool. The potential to keep your Force Lightning going and dealing damage means Palpatine or any other Blue villain have the potential to cut through your opponent’s defenses in a matter of moments.

What Will You Become?
As characters like Jyn Erso and Director Krennic play out their climactic struggles in Rogue One, you’ll be able to bring the newest Star Wars movie into your games of Star Wars: Destiny with the Spirit of Rebellion Booster Packs!

Every booster pack includes five randomized cards and one premium die, broken down into three common cards, one uncommon card, and one rare or legendary card with a corresponding die. All cards that feature a corresponding die are either rare or legendary cards. With every booster pack, you’ll find new characters, supports, upgrades, or events, along with new ways to enter the Star Wars galaxy and fight for your chosen side!

There are 36 booster packs included in a Spirit of Rebellion display case.
