REVIEWS
Fascinating, thrilling and completely accessible, this is a well deserved and worthy tribute to one of the world’s greatest comic book creators. Seeing whole pages or even the tiniest details blown up in such crystal-clear definition is a joy. Watching Bryan draw is magical. Listening to him enthuse about his influences is infectious. If you love comics but haven’t yet read a word Bryan has written or seen a page that he’s drawn you will still love this three-programme documentary...

From the opening of this hugely enjoyable documentary there’s an overwhelming feeling of enthusiasm for the comic form that pervades the film throughout. The production standards on this documentary are excellent and chart Bryan Talbot’s 40-year career in comics with aplomb, but learning about Bryan and his craft is only part of the delight of this project. The impressive roll call of other contributors is an added bonus to an already impressive release. Offering great interviews, unprecedented access to previously unseen material, The Graphic Novel Man: The Comics of Bryan Talbot is the kind of documentary about a comics creator we should see more of. This documentary will, I think, be thoroughly enjoyed by Bryan’s many fans.
-John Freeman - DOWN THE TUBES

As an artist I'm always interested in looking at the process of others, and this was a really good insight, plus a good place to get a lot of Bryan Talbot's art in one place. Great set of films, would recommend to all that have any interest in Art, Comics, or good Documentaries. I can see me watching them again both as a film in it self but also as a source of inspiration if I ever get into a situation that I can't draw myself out of. Looking forward to Volume 2, and beyond...
-Chris Geary INTERNATIONAL ACES

Digital Story Engine have done a cracking job with this visually entertaining and cleverly edited documentary about my work. I'm obviously too familiar with my books to take an entirely objective view but everybody at the British Library premier raved about it, including eminent Jonathan Cape editor Dan Franklin, who called it "inspirational".
