Wrath & Glory is the story of the Gilead System, eight Imperial worlds cut off from the Emperor’s light by the Great Rift. The new Rulebook focuses on the Gilead System, allowing you to tell your own stories in a society beset by daemonic invasion and internal corruption.

Character Creation has been streamlined, with a focus on Frameworks. With so many choices of who and what you can play, you’ll want to decide the focus of your game early!

The Factions Chapter is a primer on life in the 41st Millennium, detailing each of the organisations vying for supremacy in the Warp-torn Gilead System. Here you’ll find expanded background options for every Faction, each of which provides a bonus during play.

The Archetypes you know and love have been presented in an easy-to-read, single-page format. All requirements have been removed, and extra bonuses have been added to complement the slight changes to Wrath & Glory. The Attribute, Skill, and Talent suggestions are ideal for guiding new players through making a character, or building quick NPCs on the fly.

The Wrath & Glory Talent list has been massively expanded into an entire chapter for a greater range of character customisation. Some of these are classic Warhammer fare we know and love — tearing through armour, proficiency with blazing promethium, and, of course, MORE DAKKA! There are other choices for investigative or social-based games. Talents like Conversational Cogitator bring the focus back to roleplaying, letting you use the augmetics of your mechanised mind to calculate the best response in any conversation.

Once you’ve survived a few adventures (hopefully without losing too many limbs), you’ll have gathered some Experience Points (XP). The new Advancement chapter has overhauled the Ascension system, allowing you to change Archetypes, take new Ascension Packages, or just spend your XP on cool stuff. The system is designed to be both robust and flexible to suit any group.

The essential Rules have been reviewed, edited, playtested, and presented with a focus on clarity and quick understanding. Very little has changed bar a few simplifications, which will mean you’re using the book less and your imagination more.

Combat is around every corner in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. We’ve gone through all the errata for Wrath & Glory, taking the same approach as with the Rules. Combat is largely unchanged, apart from simplification, clarification, and some cool new optional rules, including an entirely new Stealth system.

We’ve addressed errata issues with everything from Reloads to Wounds, but rest assured we won’t stop here. We’d love if you would help us by letting us know about any typos or other errors that you may find in the PDF via this Errata link only.

The Wrath & Glory Perils of the Warp deck contains 55 reference cards detailing the outcomes of psychic powers gone awry. These events can be gruesome and bizarre, highlighting the dangers of psykers in the grim darkness of the far future.

This deck is handy for players to draw their own results when their psyker player character has a mishap during the game. The results on the cards have all the game information to determine exactly what misfortune has been released from the warp.

Using psychic powers are dangerous in the 41st Millennium. Unfortunate psykers may manifest all manner of bizarre and sinister phenomena and this card deck details the horrific events that ensue.

The Perils of the Warp Card Deck is specifically designed for the punishing effects psykers face when their powers go wrong. The table with which this deck corresponds is slightly larger because this is one of the few times a player might be rolling multiple Wrath Dice. To help simplify that process, this deck is subdivided based on how many Wrath Dice the psyker has rolled.

The Wargear deck puts the warband’s equipment right into the player’s hands, making it easy and simple to swap items or keep track of which weapon you should wield against your foes.

The Wrath & Glory Wrath Deck contains 55 cards detailing brutal critical hits to make combats in your game full of carnage and woe!

These cards also contain keywords for Threatening Tasks, a way for your player characters to work together to solve a dangerous challenge before time runs out. These cards put the information right at your fingertips to make your Wrath & Glory game run more smoothly.

This card deck details numerous brutal critical hits for combat in Wrath & Glory, plus they are useful for determining the outcome of a threatening task (situations where the entire warband works together to complete steps towards resolving a dangerous situation).

The Wrath Deck handles two things at once.

First, it is a direct replacement for the Critical Hit table. When you’re using the Wrath Deck for crits, the top card is revealed at the beginning of combat so that everyone can see what the next crit will be. This lets players spend Wrath for rerolls to help them get it more quickly if it looks very helpful, or it lets the card loom ominously over the combat as everyone wonders how long before that crit comes their way. As you can see, there’s also some great art and flavor text to help with visualizing the crit itself. (Note – Severity refers to greater effects that can be achieved with shifts or Glory expenditures.)

Second, the Wrath Deck is used for resolving Threatening Tasks. This is a special narrative mechanic that allows you to set scenes where the player characters need to accomplish something while under fire. The full explanation of how these work will be in the Core Rules, but the short version is that the symbols in the lower right connect to character keywords and indicate who can work towards resolving the Threatening Task on a given round.
