Star Wars X-Wing: Ghost Expansion Pack
Star Wars X-Wing: Ghost Expansion Pack

The durable VCX-100 light freighter and nimble Sheathipede-class shuttle can fight as a docked pair or split up to attack from multiple angles. When helmed by heroes like Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, and Ezra Bridger, these ships can be some of the greatest assets of the Rebellion.

Working with the Phoenix Cell, these heroes were some of the first to join the fight against the Galactic Empire. In addition to using the Ghost crew in a variety of roles, the VCX-100 platform invites customizability, letting you outfit it with advanced systems, turrets, torpedoes, and more.

You’ll find both a VCX-100 light freighter miniature and a Sheathipede-class shuttle miniature that can physically dock with it in this expansion, giving you the freedom to fly them separately or as a powerful combined force. Alongside these miniatures, new players will also find reprints of eight ship cards, four for the VCX-100 and four for the Sheathipede-class shuttle, as well as sixteen upgrade cards, including your first chance to pair Ezra Bridger and the nefarious Maul in the Hyperspace format. Finally, four Quick Build cards help get you into the battle right away.

Wise Jedi and dedicated clones teaming up against cold, mechanical droid starfighters. Brave Rebels flying against the might of the Empire. A group of pirates in the Outer Rim making a bold raid on an Imperial convoy. The intense space battles of X-Wing are varied and can take you to any era of the Star Wars saga. Now, new ships are preparing to make the jump into whatever war you find yourself.

Whether your strategy relies on fast starfighters nimbly outmaneuvering their opponents or heavy ships that can cover any angle, the ships and upgrades you find in this wave unlock deep new options for their factions. As you explore even more of the Clone Wars with new ships for the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance, this wave also brings more depth to the Rebel Alliance, Galactic Empire, and Scum and Villainy factions, adding new layers to the Hyperspace format.

Star Wars X-Wing: Green Bases and Pegs
Star Wars X-Wing: Green Bases and Pegs

X-Wing is the two-player miniatures game of fantastic, squad-based dogfights set in the Star Wars galaxy. Players assemble their squadrons, calling upon such starfighters as X-wings, TIE fighters, and even the Millennium Falcon. Then they launch their ships into battle.

Since its release in 2012, X-Wing has exploded in popularity, and it continues to grow. There are many reasons for the game’s popularity. They include its highly detailed and pre-painted starship miniatures, an intuitive ruleset that takes only minutes to learn, and the nearly limitless measure of customization permitted by the game’s rules for squad-building.

It is this ability to customize your squad through different pairings of ships and upgrades that allows you to experiment with a wide variety of squadrons and enjoy a wide variety of different play experiences, even with just a few ships. Moreover, the game’s deep possibilities for customization allow you to pursue the squadrons, tactics, and strategies that best suit your tastes.

Now, you can customize your squadron even further with translucent plastic bases and pegs made in five different colors: Blue, Red, Green, Orange, and Purple. These will also be accompanied by bases and pegs in the same clear plastic as you get in your X-Wing Core Set or expansion packs.

Each package of X-Wing colored bases and pegs comes with four small bases, ten small pegs, one large base, and three large pegs. And all of them are X-Wing tournament-legal.

Because they’re manufactured to the same settings as standard X-Wing bases and pegs, you can use your X-Wing colored bases and pegs in tournament play, meaning you can fly Luke Skywalker and your other Red Squadron X-wings on red bases and pegs.

You can distinguish your Binayre Pirates from each other by flying one on an orange base and one on green. Then you can add more thematic color to your squad by outfitting your Hound’s Tooth with an orange base and pegs while outfitting Prince Xizor’s ship with a rich purple base and pegs.

Of course, you can simply use your colored bases and pegs to call out the colors on your ships or to highlight the differences between the game’s factions. Accordingly, you might call out the blue stripes on Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing by outfitting it with a blue base and pegs while you fly the First Order’s TIE/fo fighters atop red bases and pegs that echo the aggressive red tint of their cockpit windows.

In the end, your colored X-Wing bases and pegs aren’t just eye-catching, they’re also tremendously helpful in distinguishing your ships from each other and from your opponent’s.

Don’t Just Play Your Games. Live Them.
With its beautiful miniatures, iconic characters, and streamlined rules, X-Wing quickly immerses you in a galaxy full of fantastic, fast-paced space battles. Soon, you’ll be able to add even more to the game’s immersive qualities by adding colored X-Wing bases and pegs to your squadrons. Along with our Star Wars playmats, these are just another way to ensure that your X-Wing experience is as deeply thematic and compelling as you want it to be!

• An accessory for the popular X-Wing Miniatures Game
• Available in six colors: blue, red, green, purple, orange, and clear
• Contains four small bases, ten small pegs, one large base, and three large pegs
• All bases and pegs are fully tournament legal

Star Wars X-Wing: Lando's Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack
Star Wars X-Wing: Lando's Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack

From its first appearance, blasting its way out of Mos Eisley spaceport in A New Hope to its triumphant arrival at the Battle of Crait in The Last Jedi, the Millennium Falcon has been an iconic part of the Star Wars saga, transporting us and our heroes to many of the fantastic worlds of a galaxy far, far away.

But long before Han Solo owned the Millennium Falcon and made his own brand of special modifications to the ship, it belonged to infamous gambler and smuggler Lando Calrissian. With the recent release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, we finally got to witness some of the Millennium Falcon’s early exploits and see how it inevitably came into Han Solo’s possession. Soon, you’ll have the opportunity to experience this classic ship in an all-new way during your games of X-Wing™ Second Edition.

Roll the Dice
Long before either of them became affiliated with the Rebel Alliance, both Lando Calrissian and Han Solo made a living by smuggling illicit cargo throughout the Outer Rim. For this reason, Lando’s Millennium Falcon becomes a powerful new option for the Scum and Villainy faction of X-Wing Second Edition.

Within the Lando’s Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack, you’ll find everything you need to add a customized YT-1300 Light Freighter to your squadron, including a beautifully painted ship miniature and an assortment of eight ship cards that reflect the Scum faction’s penchant for risk-taking. But these risks aren’t totally reckless. Any gambler knows the best time to place a bet is when the odds are in your favor, and few are better gamblers than Lando Calrissian. If he’s is at the controls of the Falcon and not stressed, he can gain a stress token to reroll all of his blank results, giving him a much better chance of enhancing an attack or dodging some incoming fire.

Beyond its pilots, Lando’s Millennium Falcon has a few interesting built-in features. Although it was originally built as a freighter, it still makes an intimidating opponent in the middle of a space battle thanks to its double turret arc that functions as a primary weapon. This arc covers much of the space surrounding the ship, making it difficult for an enemy ship to approach without the threat of return fire.

These turrets need operators, of course, and you can enhance their effectiveness by adding a gunner from among the thirteen upgrade cards found in this expansion. In addition to being an ace pilot, Han Solo is just as good in the gunner seat, granting you the ability to perform a red focus action before engaging with enemy ships. In effect, this gives you the chance to both rotate your turret into position and focus in a single round, providing ample opportunity to line up your shot and give it a good chance of hitting.

A large ship like the Millennium Falcon can be greatly enhanced by good crew and you’ll find plenty of opportunities to add one among this expansion’s upgrade cards. Scum are known for their unpredictability and Tobias Beckett is sure to enhance this reputation with his ability to dramatically alter the playing field during setup.

Even more unpredictable is the Falcon itself. Han Solo may have put his own mark on the ship, but Lando Calrissian also gave it a few tricks of his own that you also include. With a Rigged Cargo Chute, for example, you can dump a fresh obstacle into the middle of the battlefield and—if you're lucky—into the path of enemy ships. What's more, Lando always had an exit strategy, and this version of the Millennium Falcon also includes the escape craft featured in the film. This craft docks snugly in the larger miniature, even as it makes Lando's Millennium Falcon more versatile with the ability to launch this escape craft, which can operate independently from the larger ship.

Not a Scratch
The Millennium Falcon has woven itself into the history of the galaxy on a number of occasions. Now, the Lando's Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack lets you experience the untold history of one of the galaxy's most storied ships. Take the controls and build your own legacy!

Star Wars X-Wing: M12-L Kimogila Fighter Expansion Pack
Star Wars X-Wing: M12-L Kimogila Fighter Expansion Pack

The Scum faction's M12-L Kimogila fighter—the heavy, straight-forward fighter that introduces the bullseye firing arc to X-Wing.

Taking Aim
Designed by MandalMotors, the M12-L Kimogila fighter was popular among the Hutts and free mercenaries due to the flexibility afforded it by its wide range of possible weapons configurations. This featured multiple gun emplacements and the ability to also equip torpedoes, meaning that it could function even as a bomber in some circumstances.

While the M12-L Kimogila fighter's pilots would often find themselves outclassed in speed and maneuverability, they typically overlooked these concerns, favoring instead the Kimogila's potential for wanton destruction.

In X-Wing, all this wanton destruction tracks back to the ship's signature bullseye firing arc . A narrow firing arc within the ship's larger firing arc, the bullseye firing arc aims from between the guide pegs on the ship's base and extends to Range "3."

Given how difficult it can be to catch one of your opponent's more slippery ships even within your standard firing arc, catching your opponent within the bullseye firing arc will certainly prove a challenge from time to time. But when you succeed, it pays off—with the thunderous eruption of your opponent's shields and hull!

Any ship that the M12-L Kimogila fighter catches in its bullseye firing arc is denied the ability to spend focus tokens or evade tokens to modify the results of its defense dice. Immediately, this adds tremendous value to all the hit and critical hit results that the Kimogila's attacks may generate, lending even the lowliest of the Kimogila's pilots an edge to their attacks that rivals those of "Omega Leader," The Inquisitor , and Wedge Antilles . Like these top aces, the Kimogila's pilots are able to manipulate the odds of attack dice versus defense dice to their favor.

Of course, the more talented Kimogila pilots are able to take even greater advantage of the ship's powerful bullseye firing arc.

Mercenaries, Brutes, and Executioners
One might presume that the pilots who favor the M12-L Kimogila fighter do so because they're more comfortable with big guns than they are with a vessel that responds to their skills, and to some extent that presumption might be accurate. Your basic Cartel Brute , for example, won't be able to dance around a battlefield in any protracted duel with a pilot like Darth Vader or Poe Dameron , but he might still hit hard with the one or two or three good shots he fires.

But the Kimogila's other pilots aren't all such blunt instruments. They might not rely so heavily upon the ship's six hull and two shields. They might, instead, prefer the ship for what it offers them when they do line up their shots, catching their foes square in the bullseye.

For example, when Dalan Oberos catches his foes in his bullseye firing arc, he doesn't just deny them the defensive benefits of their focus and evade tokens; he gains a free target lock.

A notorious bounty hunter who first appeared in the Chronicles of the Gatekeeper adventure book for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game, Dalan Oberos was rumored to have met his demise during a job gone bad on Cato Neimoidia. But he has now resurfaced as a freelance enforcer for the Hutt Cartels and other operations in the Outer Rim. Some say he has come back changed or disfigured, armed with Contraband Cybernetics and a new view on life. Others have whispered that the bounty hunter calling himself Dalan Oberos is not the same man who fell on Cato Neimoidia.

No matter how it is he returned, though, no one can deny how dangerous Dalan Oberos truly is when he's behind the controls of his Kimogila fighter.

Just as deadly—although likely far trickier to fly—is the M12-L Kimogila's other ace pilot, Torani Kulda . A Rodian bounty hunter and assassin who first came to our attention in the Lords of Nal Hutta sourcebook for Star Wars™: Edge of the Empire™, Torani Kulda rewards you tremendously any time you maneuver her into position to catch multiple foes in her bullseye firing arc.

Given how difficult it can be to catch enemy ships in your bullseye firing arc, especially when you consider that all of the Kimogila's Speed "1" and "2" turns are red, catching multiple ships in the same firing arc will be no easy task. That said, if you manage it, Torani Kulda will force them all to either discard all of their focus and evade tokens or suffer one point of damage.

Fortunately, Torani Kulda's pilot skill value of "8" allows her to maneuver and use her barrel roll to adjust her position after most other ships will have already settled into place for the round. And you can improve her ability to respond to other pilots' maneuvering by equipping her with either Veteran Instincts or Adaptability .

And just in case you thought the bullseye firing arc was all about offense... it's only mostly about offensive potential. If you fly Torani Kulda, Dalan Oberos, or any of the expansion's other enforcers in a Kimogila fighter equipped with the Enforcer Title upgrade, you can also transform your bullseye firing arc into a defensive benefit:

"After defending, if the attacker is inside your bullseye firing arc, it receives 1 stress token."

This ability won't help you find any additional evade results, nor will it reduce your opponent's attack accuracy. But the threat of a stress token—one that can stack with any existing stress tokens—might just encourage your opponent to fire at one of your other ships. A stress token taken at the wrong time could force a ship to fly off the board or to spend multiple rounds repositioning in order to get your fighters back in arc.

As a result, your opponent might refuse to fire at the Enforcer if there's another target available, even if that target might have greater agility or a more resilient combination of shields and hull. And there's no better defense than not getting shot at!

Take Aim and Fire
No matter if your firing arc is ninety degrees, 180, or 360, you still need to outmaneuver your foes if you want to win your X-Wing battles. With the M12-L Kimogila Fighter Expansion Pack, this fact is further reinforced and stamped with an exclamation mark by the ship's bullseye firing arc.

Are you skilled enough to catch your foes dead to rights? Are you brave enough to fly at your enemy's ships and dare them to scatter to either side of your formation?

The Kimogila fighter and its bullseye firing arc raise the importance of your maneuvers to all-new heights, so how will you fly it?

• A Scum faction starship expansion for the best-selling X-Wing miniatures game
• Features one highly detailed and pre-painted M12-L Kimogila fighter miniature
• Opens new tactical possibilities through the introduction of its bullseye firing arc
• The reload action ensures you’ll never run out of ordnance
• Highly customizable with four ship cards and ten upgrades

Star Wars X-Wing: M3-A Interceptor Expansion Pack
Star Wars X-Wing: M3-A Interceptor Expansion Pack

In the Outer Rim, justice is often decided through superior firepower. The M3-A Interceptor is a light, maneuverable craft favored by cartels and syndicates, thanks to the modular hardpoint that lets it equip destructive torpedoes, powerful cannons, and other weapons to threaten much larger vessels.

In fact, some of the Outer Rim’s most infamous crime lords, including Genesis Red, have flown into battle at the controls of the M3-A Interceptor. The ships were perhaps most famously used by Car’das smugglers to defeat the Black Sun ace Talonbane Cobra during the Battle of Tansarii Point Station, earning it much respect throughout the sector.

This expansion contains everything you need to supplement your Scum and Villainy squadrons with one of these inexpensive and highly customizable fighters. In addition to an M3-A Interceptor ship miniature featuring a striking black and gold Black Sun paint scheme, new players will also find eight reprinted ship cards, including six limited pilots, as well as reprints of five valuable upgrades and four Quick Build cards that help you jump into battle right away.

Wise Jedi and dedicated clones teaming up against cold, mechanical droid starfighters. Brave Rebels flying against the might of the Empire. Since its release, X-Wing Miniatures Game has invited you to enter the Star Wars galaxy and play out your own battles with some of the series’ most iconic starfighters. You can bring your full collection of first edition ships into the new edition with Conversion Kits for the Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, and Scum and Villainy. What’s more, a full hangar bay of expansions will launch alongside the Core Set, giving you plenty of options for creating your squadrons and customizing your X-Wing Second Edition experience.

Why Second Edition?
Since 2012 and the release of the game, X-Wing Miniatures Game has grown and expanded to become a massive bestseller. Fourteen waves and fifty-eight distinct starships provided a massive library of ships and tactical possibilities, giving you the chance to field hundreds of unique squadrons in their space battles across the Star Wars saga.

Despite the massive success of the game’s first edition, we believe that by advancing the game to a second edition, X-Wing can offer an even better experience! There are four primary places where we believe X-Wing Second Edition will offer a renewed and improved experience:

* With X-Wing Second Edition, gameplay has been refined across the board, implementing minor tweaks and changes to improve the game’s flow, clean up interactions, and refocus the game on the physical act of flying starships.
* The Force is a crucial part of the Star Wars galaxy that has historically played a smaller role in the game of X-Wing. With the release of X-Wing Second Edition, we have the chance to implement the Force as an important part of the game, affecting how you fly your ships and the choices that you make in the heat of battle. For more information about the Force and how it plays out in your games of X-Wing, just keep reading!
* Faction identities have been strengthened in X-Wing Second Edition, giving each faction more unique tactics and strategies. Flying a squadron of Scum and Villainy starships should feel very different from flying an Imperial squadron, and with the game’s second edition, those differences are more present than ever before. What’s more, the First Order and Resistance have been reformed into their own distinct factions, separate from the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, with their own themes, strengths, and weaknesses.
* An official X-Wing squad builder app / website will be implemented, bringing a new level of dynamic play to Organized Play and casual games alike. This X-Wing squad builder gives players an easy way to assemble their squadrons and manage their collection, and it also allows the Organized Play team to explore dozens of new possibilities with alternate formats for the game. The point cost of ships and upgrades and the upgrade slots available to ships can be adjusted for the course of a single event, a tournament series, or an entire season of the game. Ultimately, the X-Wing squad builder app creates dynamic and constantly evolving Organized Play unlike anything that was possible before. For more information about the X-Wing squad builder app, read on.

Fly into the Fray
X-Wing Second Edition puts you in command of your own squadron of advanced starfighters locked in thrilling, tactical space combat. Following in the footsteps of the first edition, the second edition refines the intuitive and exciting core formula of maneuvering your ships into position by placing a central focus on the visceral thrill of flying starships in the Star Wars galaxy.

During a battle, you’ll use your squadron’s unique capabilities to give yourself an advantage in the thick of combat. Each X-Wing ship flies differently, with its own set of maneuvers ranging from gentle banks to aggressive Koiogran turns. As in the game’s first edition, you’ll need to use every ship’s maneuvering capabilities to the fullest in order to strategically position your ships. A round begins with players secretly selecting a maneuver on each of their ships’ unique maneuver dials. Once you’ve decided how each of your ships is going to fly, you’ll begin revealing the dials and moving your ships, starting with the lowest skilled pilots.

As you move, you’ll enter a tense duel with your opponent as you both try to line up the perfect shot. Before you can open fire on an opponent’s ship, however, they must be in your firing arc and within range. By carefully selecting your maneuvers, you can get enemy ships in your sights, and once you’ve locked onto your target, you’re free to choose your plan of attack. You might pepper the enemy with blaster fire to whittle away their shields. Or, you could go for massive damage and launch a devastating volley of proton torpedoes. No matter how you approach the battle, you have complete control of your squadron. One player wins when all of their opponent’s ships are destroyed!

Slick flying is certainly important, but it isn’t the only consideration you’ll have to make in the midst of a dogfight. As in the first edition of X-Wing, once your ships have completed a maneuver, you can also perform an action to gain the upper hand. Whether you choose to acquire a target lock on a rival ship or barrel roll out of an enemy’s firing arc, the actions you take affect the course of the battle and determine the fate of your squadron.

Now, in the second edition of the game, your actions offer greater strategic depth than ever before. Some actions are red and induce stress when they are used. Other actions may be linked, allowing you to chain two actions together and push the limits of how your ship can handle in a dogfight!

Use the Force
The Force is an iconic part of the Star Wars galaxy, and some of the best pilots, including Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, have been able to use this energy source to push themselves—and their starfighters—to the limits of their capabilities.

Fittingly then, X-Wing Second Edition introduces Force powers into the game, giving Force-sensitive pilots an extra edge in the heat of battle. Pilots with the ability to exert their influence over the Force have Force charges that they can spend to perform awe-inspiring feats, far beyond the abilities of normal pilots.

At their most basic, these charges can be spent to improve a pilot’s aim or give them an extra push to avoid incoming fire. Using a Force charge lets you change a single focus result on attack or defense to a hit or evade result! When paired with upgrade cards, however, Force-sensitive pilots become even more versatile. Upgrades that require Force charges can make Force-sensitive pilots more perceptive of their surroundings, give them supernatural reflexes, or even grant them the ability to reach out and sense where their opponent will move next.

While the Force can be a powerful ally in the midst of battle, it is also a finite resource. You must choose the right moment to spend your charges to ensure they have the greatest impact on the battle. Trust your feelings and let the Force flow through you!

Iconic Ships
X-Wing is known for bringing starships from across the Star Wars galaxy to life in beautifully-detailed miniatures. On top of the T-65 X-wing and two TIE fighters included in the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set, the many X-Wing Second Edition expansions give players plenty of options for building a squadron that fits your playstyle.

Whether you prefer the versatile starfighters of the ragtag Rebel Alliance, the speed and overwhelming numbers of the Galactic Empire, or the unpredictability of the galaxy’s most wretched Scum and Villainy, all three factions will be represented at launch. New players can expand their collections with X-Wing Second Edition ship expansions while veterans can use each faction’s conversion kit to bring their entire collection of first edition ships into the game’s second edition.

Each conversion kit contains a massive array of second edition cards, tokens, and maneuver dials for the ships previously released in the game’s first edition. Between the conversion kits and the support offered by the X-Wing squad builder app, you’ll have everything that you need to completely customize your squadron and play with all of your existing ships in the game’s second edition.

Furthermore, the X-Wing Second Edition Dice Pack will be available alongside the release of the Core Set. This accessory includes three red attack dice and three green defense dice, identical to those found in the Core Set. With this tool of convenience at your side, your battles can keep up with even the fastest starfighter.

Of course, the Star Wars saga encompasses more than just the Galactic Civil War. The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi continue the story, dramatizing the struggle between the Resistance and First Order. Rather than continue as sub-factions of the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, the Resistance and the First Order are being expanded into their own complete factions in X-Wing Second Edition! These factions will be introduced during the second wave of expansions, with their own conversion kits for veteran players to bring their existing First Order and Resistance ships into the game.

Build Your Squad
Once you’ve chosen a faction, it’s time to build your squadron. X-Wing Second Edition gives you a massive amount of freedom to select the ships, pilots, and upgrades that you want to fly. Ace pilots such as Luke Skywalker and Iden Versio bring special abilities to the fray, giving them an advantage over other pilots. On top of the tricks that your pilots can bring to the battle, aces and rank-and-file pilots alike can customize their ships with modifications, secondary weapons, astromech droids, and special skills that add new variety and tactical depth to every game. In the second edition, however, the exact upgrades which each ship can equip are determined by the X-Wing squad builder app, which we’ll explore more below!

The upgrade cards that you choose give your pilots special abilities or alternative ways to attack, giving you more flexibility in the middle of a battle. You’ll choose your upgrades using the Quick Build cards or the official X-Wing squad builder app before the game starts, as part of assembling your squadron. Once equipped, the new, horizontally-aligned upgrade cards are tucked partially beneath the ship card or another equipped upgrade—allowing you to clearly view the text and any new icons that the upgrade adds to your ship.

When you’re pulling together a squadron to battle against a friend, X-Wing Second Edition offers two excellent ways to assemble your squadrons. If you want to jump into action right away, you can use the Quick Build cards for each ship to easily put together balanced squadrons. These cards include predefined selections of pilots and upgrades, with a threat level that represents the strength of that particular combination. All you have to do to get playing is choose a threat level, select a combination of Quick Build cards that add up to that threat level, and start playing!

If you want full control over the pilots and upgrades in your squadron, however, X-Wing Second Edition introduces the X-Wing squad-builder app. In the first edition of X-Wing, a ship’s upgrade slots and the point costs of ship cards and upgrade cards were printed directly on the card. With the advent of X-Wing Second Edition, these point values and upgrade slots will be governed by the app! Rather than using point values printed on the ship cards and upgrade cards, the squad-builder tracks all point values and the upgrade slots available to a ship at any time. What’s more, this app explains the rules of squad-point building and enforces these rules so that players do not accidentally build illegal squads.

Not only does the X-Wing squad builder app enable fast, accurate list-building, the versatility of the X-Wing squad builder app means that it will be easy to support multiple formats of play, creating a more dynamic play environment. Whether you’re playing at a tournament or around your table at home, the squad builder can be used to create specific formats that test all of your squad-building abilities. The point costs or upgrade slots available to certain ships could be easily adjusted for the course of a single event, a series of tournaments, or a season of the game.

The dynamic approach to X-Wing formats given by the X-Wing squad builder app gives the Organized Play team an opportunity to create unforgettable and unique tournament formats. You can even use the X-Wing squad builder app to create your own custom formats if you’re playing at home or running your own tournament in a local store! By restricting certain cards, you can create a tournament format that’s as unique as the game experience you want to explore.

Future previews will explore the Quick Build cards and the squad builder app in much more detail, showing you just how you’ll be able to pick your pilots, outfit their ships, and jump into the thick of battle!

Why are there no point costs or upgrade slots printed on cards?
The X-Wing squad-builder app will track the point value of all ships and upgrades, allowing for fast and accurate squad-building. Points will adjust based on the type of game that you are playing, and the cost of a card could vary under very specific criteria. For example, an upgrade card may cost more for one ship to equip than another ship. The X-Wing squad builder app will also track which upgrades a ship is allowed to equip at any given time.

How will the squad building app work?
The X-Wing squad builder lets you build a custom squadron by explaining the rules of squad-point building and enforcing those rules so that you do not accidentally build an illegal squad. The app also tracks how many copies of each expansion you own, helping you know whether you can build a squadron that you create. In addition, the squad builder will track the point costs and upgrade slots for all ship cards and upgrade cards, allowing the Organized Play team and the development team to create new and unique ways for you to experience the game!

Not only does the X-Wing squad builder app enable fast, accurate list-building, the versatility of the X-Wing squad builder app means that it will be easy to support multiple styles of play. No matter where your games take you, the squad builder can be used to create specific types of games that test all of your squad-building abilities. The point costs or upgrade slots available to certain ships could be easily adjusted by the developers or the Organized Play team for the course of a single event, a series of tournaments, or long-term for the ongoing health of the game.

Certain ships, ship cards, and upgrade cards may rotate in and out of tournament legality, giving the Organized Play team an opportunity to create unforgettable and unique tournaments. You can even use the X-Wing squad builder app to create your own custom games if you’re playing at home or running your own tournament in a local store! By restricting certain cards, you can create a tournament that’s as unique as the game experience you want to explore.

Do I have to use the squad builder app?
While the X-Wing squad builder is best for players who want full control over their pilots and upgrades, you can also play a match using the Quick Build cards included in the Core Set. This mode of play lets you easily create a squadron using predefined selections. Each Quick Build card consists of a ship card, a number of upgrade cards, and a threat level from one to five. To play a match using Quick Build cards, players must agree to a particular threat level. Then, both players build their squadron by choosing a combination of Quick Build options that add up to that threat level.

For freeform building and tournament play, however, the X-Wing squad builder app is an essential part of the X-Wing Second Edition experience.
