Advanced AI
While the majority of the Separatist Alliance’s battle droids are programmed to mindlessly wade into battle, that isn’t always the case. Cunning, stealthy, and deadly in close quarters, BX-series droid commandos represent a major step forward from their B1 battle droid cousins. Equipped with superior programming and built to operate independently, they often operate in lethal pairs that can wreak havoc on the battlefield.

With an array of deadly tool available to them, these elite commando droids are known to lay traps and set up ambushes to catch their foes flat-footed before finishing them off with salvoes of fire. However deadly they are with their sniper rifles or E-5 blasters, they’ve even more formidable when battling up close with their deadly vibroswords or deflector shields .

Whether you use them to target key enemy personnel or plant deadly dioxis mines, the BX-series droid commando miniatures you find in this expansion are highly customizable. Several weapons options—including blasters, vibroswords, and a dioxis charge—as well as deflector shields give you the freedom to build the unit of commando droids you’ve always wanted while eight upgrade cards invite you to outfit them for your particular strategy.

Star Wars Legion: Cad Bane Operative Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Cad Bane Operative Expansion

There are some jobs drbattle droids just can't complete. When a task requires a little more finesse, the Separatist Alliance doesn't hesitate to hire a professional bounty hunter like Cad Bane. Willing to take on any job with no questions asked, Bane doesn’t adhere to conventional tactics, instead manipulating others to his advantage.

This expansion puts all of Cad Bane's skills at your disposal and gives you plenty of options for assembling the unpainted hard plastic miniature you find in it. In addition to being able to choose whether Cad Bane enters battle with his signature wide-brimmed hat, you can also build the miniature with his dual LL-30 blaster pistols or with a single pistol and one hand activating his electro gauntlets. Rounding out this pack are a unit card, six upgrade cards, and Cad Bane's three signature command cards.

In Control
Bounty hunting may be far removed from the halls of power frequented by Senators like Padmé Amidala, but the two professions aren’t actually all that different from one another. Both require grit, cold calculation, and more than a fair share of discretion to accomplish their goals. When the Separatist Alliance needs a task completed quickly and quietly, then, they turn to a professional bounty hunter like Cad Bane.

Willing to take on any job with no questions asked, Bane doesn’t adhere to conventional tactics, instead manipulating others to his advantage. Of all the tools he has at his disposal, none may be more effective at bringing in his quarry than the Electro Gauntlets that pin a unit in place and leave it open to fire from other units. In addition to these gauntlets, five other upgrade cards in this expansion invite you to outfit Cad Bane with various tools for his bounty hunting career.

No matter what cards you choose, your choices can be reflected in the hard plastic Cad Bane miniature included in this expansion. This miniature can be assembled with or without Cad Bane’s signature wide-brimmed hat as well as with his dual LL-30 blaster pistols or with a single pistol and one hand activating his gauntlet’s control panel.

Star Wars Legion: Cassian Andor and K-2SO Commander Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Cassian Andor and K-2SO Commander Expansion

Always operating under the watchful eye of the Empire, Rebel agents toil in secret to acquire every scrap of intelligence they can. Cassian Andor is one of the most dedicated—and skilled—of these agents. Willing to take on any mission in the name of the cause, Andor works tirelessly alongside the sardonic security droid K-2SO to bring an end to the Empire.

Accustomed to working in the shadows, this daring duo has earned a reputation for effectively leading surgical strikes and undercover missions. Soon you can make use of both Cassian Andor and K-2SO’s combat skills and leadership abilities with the Cassian Andor and K-2SO Commander Expansion for Star Wars: Legion!

This expansion puts these skilled Rebel agents at your disposal and you’ll find a variety of ways to assemble the beautifully detailed, unpainted hard plastic miniatures that represent them on the battlefield. Cassian Andor can be assembled with three distinct weapon options, including a compact blaster or his A280-CFE in either its pistol or sniper configurations. K-2SO, meanwhile, can be assembled with Jyn Erso’s SE-14 blaster in his right hand, a grenade in his left hand, or with both his hands free.

In addition to customizing their look, this expansion provides everything you need to outfit Cassian Andor and K-2SO with a variety of weapons, equipment, comms, and more. Read on for a full look at all the ways these elite assets can be a part of your Rebel army!

Rogue Agent
Cassian Andor is no stranger to battle. First seeing combat at six, he has become a hardened veteran who can handle the rigors of any assignment. This extensive experience has also forged him into a uniquely skilled and adaptable combatant capable of taking on any number of roles during a mission.

First and foremost, Andor's experience as an intelligence officer has taught him to always carefully adjust his loadout based on the most up-to-date information. This means that, while building your army, for each upgrade equipped to Cassian Andor, you may choose another upgrade card of the same type with equal or lesser points cost. Then, when he deploys, you may swap any of his equipped upgrades with a set-aside upgrade of the same type.

This ability grants you a large amount of freedom over how Cassian Andor operates in a given battle, letting you adjust not just to the battlefield and objectives, but also to your opponent’s deployment. If, for example, you planned to have him pick off targets with his A280-CFE Sniper Config while on Overwatch, you can quickly change your plans to make him more mobile and ready to make an Offensive Push.

No matter how you choose to use him, Cassian Andor has the skills to support any strategy. An expert marksman, instead of spending aim tokens to reroll his attack dice, he can use them to improve the results, changing a blank result to a hit or a hit result to a critical result for each aim token spent. These aim tokens become even more versatile to Andor if he is carrying his A280-CFE in its Pistol Config that can use them to fire from longer range.

As effective as he is on his own, Andor becomes even better when working alongside K-2SO. In addition to being able to move across the battlefield without being attacked from beyond range 1 unless he has drawn attention to himself by performing an attack or an objective card action, K-2SO can boost both himself and Cassian Andor by calculating their odds of success. He may initially be limited to a powerful melee attack, but if Jyn Erso chooses to trust him with her SE-14 Blaster, K-2SO gains a potent suppressive ranged attack.

Already a deadly and dynamic team, Cassian Andor and K-2SO's command cards help them further augment their own abilities as well as those around them. When he takes a Crack Shot, for example, Andor can perform an incredible three attacks in a single round while also enhancing his own danger sense to help him stay alive in the midst of combat. If he would rather focus on the larger army around him, he can also lead a Volunteer Mission that enhances the defense of every commander, operative, and special forces unit involved.

Alternatively, he is also ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for the Rebellion at any time and he won’t go down easily. As he makes his Last Stand, Andor also gains the aim, dodge, or suppression tokens he needs to make sure his own defeat comes at a bitter cost. Similarly, K-2SO can Sacrifice himself by drawing enemy fire away from his teammates and—if the circumstances are truly dire—allow himself to be defeated to prevent enemy units from attacking them until the end of round.

Build Hope
Cassian Andor and K-2SO can't defeat the Empire on their own. But they can build the hope that fans the fires of Rebellion.

Star Wars Legion: Chewbacca Operative Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Chewbacca Operative Expansion

The Rebel Alliance is made up of diverse beings from across the galaxy. Each of these has something to contribute to the Alliance’s mission, but few can match the raw strength of a Wookiee. Soon, you’ll have the chance to bring one of the most well-known Wookiees in the galaxy to your tabletop. Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce the Chewbacca Operative Expansion for Star Wars: Legion!

Han Solo’s ever-faithful companion, Chewbacca isn’t afraid to follow his friends into battle. Once there, it isn’t hard to see how he can aid the three Rebel commanders as they attempt to capture crucial objectives or secure a foothold on the battlefield. His immense strength and personal connection to Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Leia Organa make him a natural choice to join these iconic heroes on the battlefield as an operative.

Inside the Chewbacca Operative Expansion, you’ll find everything you need to add Chewbacca to your Rebel army. A single unpainted, easily assembled miniature depicts Chewbacca roaring into battle, his trusty bowcaster at the ready. Three upgrade cards provide more tools for preparing Chewbacca and your other units for battle, and three command cards can add more variety to your hand, allowing Chewbacca to team up with the three Rebel commanders.

Releasing alongside the Wookiee Warriors Unit Expansion, you’ll be able to bring your own detachment of mighty Wookiees to the battlefields of the Galactic Civil War late in the fourth quarter of 2018.

More than a Walking Carpet
With the Chewbacca Operative Expansion, Rebel generals have new options for building their armies. In Star Wars: Legion, every army can pair up to two operatives with the one or two commanders that they’ve chosen to lead their foot soldiers and vehicles into combat, and Chewbacca makes a welcome addition to any army.

Towering over most of his foes, Chewbacca can easily overpower any enemy units that stand in his way, making him one of the most powerful melee characters in the game. When it comes time to fight, though, Chewie would just as soon use his bowcaster. This powerful weapon packs quite a punch, both cutting through enemy blocks and blasting through their armor.

Despite the raw power that he brings to every battle, Chewbacca’s greatest strength might be the relationships he has built with the commanders he’ll join on the battlefield. He was flying with Han Solo long before they joined the Rebellion, so it’s only natural that the pair should be fighting in sync in the heat of battle. Both heroes are formidable combatants on their own, and Chewie’s Teamwork ability further encourages him to work side-by-side with Han. This ability simply allows Chewbacca and Han Solo to gain an aim or dodge token whenever the other unit gains a token of the same type!

These strong relationships are even more evident in Chewbacca’s signature command cards. In addition to Han Solo, Chewbacca also formed a strong connection with both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa during the Galactic Civil War and each of his command cards gives you the power to use Chewie in tandem with one of these iconic heroes. For example, the strong affinity he shares with Han Solo allows you to ignore the normal rules concerning command cards. Normally, a command card is discarded at the end of the round it is revealed. But Chewbacca and Han Solo have a reputation as Notorious Scoundrels, allowing you to bring one of Han’s discarded command cards back to your hand for another use.

Medal Worthy
Chewbacca brings a new level of ferocity to the battles of the Galactic Civil War, and he doesn’t like to lose. Soon, you’ll be able to tap into this untamed power during your games of Star Wars: Legion.

Star Wars Legion: Clone Wars Core Set
Star Wars Legion: Clone Wars Core Set

War has engulfed the galaxy. The vast forces of the Separatist Alliance, bolstered by seemingly endless ranks of battle droids, have pushed the Galactic Republic to the brink of dissolution and defeat. The Republic’s only hope is its army of elite clone troopers, led into battle by noble, Force-wielding Jedi Knights. The war between them is an epic struggle where every battle could turn the tide and change the fate of the galaxy.

Soon, you can immerse yourself in this epic conflict, assembling your forces and leading them against your opponents in the legendary ground battles of Star Wars.

This Core Set invites you to enter a completely new era of infantry battles in the Star Wars galaxy, pitting the overwhelming Separatist droid forces against the Republic’s crack armies of clone troopers and Jedi Knights. With the thirty-nine unpainted, easily assembled miniatures you find here, you can begin building and painting a unique army of the Clone Wars’ most iconic heroes, villains, troopers, and vehicles. As you do, you’ll develop new strategies and deploy new tactics tailored to each of these faction’s unique capabilities.

In addition to introducing the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance to the game as new factions, this Core Set contains all the cards, tools and tokens you need to begin staging your own Star Wars battles right away, making this the perfect starting point for building your Star Wars: Legion collection. Importantly, the Clone Wars Core Set is not a new edition of the game, and you don't need the original Core Set to start playing. The Clone Wars Core Set is fully compatible with all previous Star Wars: Legion products, inviting you to play out whatever battles you can imagine across the saga.

Read on for more details on how this Core Set transports you into the heart of the Clone Wars!

Clones and Clankers
Star Wars: Legion puts you in command of your own army of units straight out of the Star Wars saga, engaging your opponent in furious firefights across a war-torn galaxy. During a game, you will strategically maneuver your troops through bombed-out warzones, unleash barrages of blaster fire, and engage in lethal lightsaber duels in a desperate struggle to determine the fate of the galaxy.

Now, with the Clone Wars Core Set, you can step into a completely new era, taking command of the iconic units and heroes of the Clone Wars. From the corps units that form the backbone of your army to the heroes and villains on the ground commanding them, every unit in your army has their role to play and—whether you side with the Galactic Republic or the Separatist Alliance—the eight units found here provide a foundation for your armies.

Those who choose to spread chaos, tyranny, and fear as the Separatist Alliance can wield a massive droid military. With an overwhelming number of B1 Battle Droids at your command, you can trample over any who stand in your path and—if B1 Battle Droids alone aren’t enough to secure victory—you can always send in a unit of Droidekas to provide the firepower necessary to decimate any opponents that remain standing.

To begin building your Separatist armies, you’ll find eighteen unpainted, finely detailed B1 Battle Droid miniatures, enough for two corps units. Ready to support them on the battlefield are four Droideka miniatures representing these destructive droids in both their standard and wheel mode forms.

Countering the Separatist threat to peace and democracy are the Republic’s clone troopers. Trained as soldiers from their conception and deeply loyal to the cause of the Republic, Phase I Clone Troopers join their Jedi generals in the effort to preserve peace in the galaxy. As skilled as they are in battle, though, Clone Troopers alone can’t hope to stand against the crushing weight of the Separatist’s battle droids. Thankfully, a BARC speeder can help them adapt to the environment on many planets and provide a welcome source of speed.

Within the Clone Wars Core Set, you’ll find fourteen Phase I Clone Trooper miniatures that can be used as the first two corps units in your own Grand Army of the Republic. Joining these troops is a beautifully sculpted BARC Speeder miniature featuring several customization options. This miniature can be assembled with or without its sidecar and, if you decide to add this feature, you’ll unlock even more customization options, with three distinct weapon options for the gunner.

While the Battle Droids and Clone Troopers you find here mainly saw action during the Clone Wars, this does not mean they’re limited to fighting one another in Star Wars: Legion. Once you’ve built your clone or droid army, you’re free to deploy it against the forces of the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance and play out any Star Wars ground battle you’d like!

A More Civilized Age
Just as essential to your army are the commanders who issue orders to your troopers. Fittingly, the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance enter Star Wars: Legion with two of the most recognizable leaders in the galaxy leading their troops into battle. The legendary Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi joins the dastardly cyborg General Grievous as their army’s commanders, contributing both their combat prowess and their leadership skills to your battle plan.

With the Force as his ally, Obi-Wan Kenobi charges into battle. As you might expect, Kenobi is deadly in melee combat with his lightsaber. But his mastery of the Soresu form of combat also gives him a superior defense, allowing him to easily deflect incoming blaster bolts. To represent Kenobi on the battlefield, the Clone Wars Core Set contains one finely detailed Obi-Wan Kenobi miniature in his ready stance, awaiting the attacks of any who would threaten the Republic.

As skilled as he is, Kenobi may have met his match in General Grievous. Proudly wielding the trophy lightsabers he has collected from the Jedi he has defeated in battle, Grievous is a particularly dangerous opponent, his agility making him equally adept at avoiding damage as he is at doling it out. Within this Core Set, you’ll find one beautifully detailed General Grievous miniature that can be assembled in three different ways: with two of his trophy lightsabers and a cloak; carrying a single lightsaber and a DT-57 “Annihilator” blaster pistol while shrouded in his cloak; or with all four trophy lightsabers at the ready.

Clearly capable of causing massive damage on their own, these commanders’ influence reaches far beyond the enemies they engage in combat. They also have the vital job of issuing orders to those under their command and both have their own style of leadership. Through the three signature command cards that you’ll find for each of them, Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous can exert their own influence on a battle, granting themselves and their units special abilities and setting the tone for your army’s maneuvers.

On top of these command cards, you’ll also find two copies each of the basic Ambush, Push, Assault, and Standing Orders command cards updated to feature Clone Wars artwork, allowing both players to round out their command hands. We’ll take a closer look at both of these commanders—and all of their signature command cards—in future previews!

Beyond Standard Issue
While armies of Battle Droids built in droid foundries and Clone Troopers created from the same genetic template may sound strictly uniform, there are plenty of opportunities for you to build a unique army. On top of choosing the troops and vehicles that round out your armies, the Clone Wars Core Set gives you the ability to tweak your individual units with a suite of forty upgrade cards. Whether you’re looking for a way to increase a unit’s firepower or to improve your lines of communication, you’ll find a mix of new and reprinted upgrade cards to build an army uniquely your own.

Once you’ve outfitted your troops for combat, you’ll need several tools to successfully move them across the battlefield, launch attacks, and secure your objectives. Fortunately, not only does the Clone Wars Core Set contain everything you need to begin building your Republic and Separatist armies, it also includes the tools necessary to carry out every aspect of your Star Wars: Legion battles.

Twelve battle cards and eight barricades help you define your battlefield and, once the battle begins, you’ll find the movement tools, four-part range ruler, and attack and defense dice you need to make moving and attacking with your troops fast and organic. Finally, this Core Set contains all the tokens you need for any situation that may arise in the heat of battle.

Enter the Clone Wars
As the Separatist Alliance spreads itself across the galaxy, brave Clone Troopers and valiant Jedi are the only thing that stand between the relentless waves of Battle Droids and total galactic domination. Soon, you can build your armies and battle for the fate of the galaxy.

* 39 unpainted and highly detailed miniatures give you the building blocks you need to begin assembling your Galactic Republic or Separatist Alliance armies.
* Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous each pose with lightsabers at the ready, prepared to lead their troops into battle and show off their skills in combat. Both these miniatures are exclusive to the Clone Wars Core Set.
* Two sqauds of Phase I Clone Troops enter the fight to preserve the Republic. Five carry the DC-15A blaster rifle while two heavy weapons specialists add extra firepower with a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon and a DC-15 blaster rifle modified to fire from long range.
* A BARC Speeder miniature gives your Clone Troopers some much-needed speed as they look to outmaneuver the Separatist's battle droids and can be assembled with or without its sidecar. Those who include the sidecar can further customize their speeder with a twin laser gunner, an RPS-6 gunner, or an ion gunner.
* Two squads of B1 Battle Droids are ready to crush any resistance with sheer weight of numbers. Seven are armed with E-5 blaster rifles, while two heavy weapons specialists bring either an E-5C blaster rifle or an E-60R missile launcher.
* One unit of two Droidekas is ready to speed into battle in wheel mode. Once there, the wheel mode miniatures can be replaced by two Droideka miniatures ready to lay down heavy fire on targets the B1 Battle Droids cannot take care of.

Star Wars Legion: Core Set
Star Wars Legion: Core Set

A miniatures game of epic battles in a galaxy far, far away

Shouts and screams echo around you—the din of pitched battle. The air smells acrid from blaster fire as lasers hiss past your squad. A scout trooper roars past on a 74-Z speeder bike, weaving between trees and firing at someone you can’t quite see through the underbrush. You raise your blaster and fire in the same direction, hoping to avoid any shrapnel. Ahead, you see Darth Vader, towering over a group of fallen Rebels strewn across the forest floor. He flicks his lightsaber forward, and your platoon charges...

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Star Wars: Legion, a miniatures game of infantry battles that invites you to join iconic heroes and villains, lead your troopers into battle, and battle for the fate of the Star Wars galaxy. With Star Wars: Legion, you can build and paint a unique army of miniatures. You can command your troops in battle and devise masterful tactics. And you can conquer your opponent’s army to bring victory to the light side or the dark side!

With thirty-three unpainted and easily assembled miniatures, and all the cards, movement tools, tokens, and terrain that you need for battle, the Star Wars: Legion Core Set is the perfect way to bring Star Wars battles to your tabletop.

Charge into Battle
Star Wars: Legion casts you as a commander in the heat of battle, pitting the Empire’s finest against the ragtag forces of the Rebellion. You’ve received your objectives from high command, and the tactics that you execute in battle will determine if you can restore freedom to the galaxy or crush the resistance of the Rebel Alliance forever.

The heroes, villains, vehicles, and squads of troopers that you command are the heart of your army, and each round, you’ll command your units to press your advantage. Whether your unit is a squad of Stormtroopers or a salvaged Rebel AT-RT, each unit can take two actions to march across the battlefield, launch a devastating attack, take careful aim, dodge away from enemy fire, take a moment to recover, or hold their action until the optimal moment.

Movement in Star Wars: Legion is fast and organic as you maneuver your troops around the battlefield using jointed movement tools. Unlike many miniatures games, you don’t need to measure movement for every miniature in a unit! Once you’ve measured movement for your unit leader, you simply pick up the other soldiers in the unit and place them in cohesion with the unit leader.

Not only does this make movement fast and intuitive, it lets you strategically position your troops to take cover from blaster fire or control strategic terrain. Sending your Stormtroopers charging into just the right place to line up a devastating crossfire or catching your opponent’s forces between Luke Skywalker and a powerful AT-RT walker are some of the game-changing moves that can turn the tide and decide the fate of the galaxy in any game of Star Wars: Legion!

Movement and positioning are important, but you’ll need to send your troops forward if you’re going to defeat the enemy army. Combat in Star Wars: Legion is driven by the weapons each soldier wields—whether you’re firing blasters, throwing grenades, igniting vehicle-mounted flamethrowers, or drawing a lightsaber. For every attack, you’ll choose the weapons you want your soldiers to use, adapting to the evolving battlefield by choosing between a blaster and a rocket launcher, for example.

Just as important as choosing which weapon you use is choosing when to attack. If your opponent is taking cover behind terrain or prepared to dodge your attack, then it may be better to reposition your unit and maneuver your forces to create a better opportunity for your onslaught. The choices you make will govern the fates of your soldiers—but if you lead them wisely, then victory is assured! For more information about movement and combat, visit the Star Wars: Legion minisite and keep an eye out for future in-depth previews.

Command Your Troops
To win the battle, your troops will need to move and attack, but first they need orders—and that can be challenging at times during the heat of battle. Luckily, you have your army’s commander to ensure you can activate your units at the critical times.

While every unit you control on the battlefield will activate each round, the command system for Star Wars: Legion presents you with the opportunity to outmaneuver and outthink your opponent. Adapting to the changing tides of battle is one of the things that separates truly great commanders from lesser officers.

Build Your Army
Like other miniatures games, Star Wars: Legion also gives you the chance to build a unique army. Before the game begins, you’ll select the exact heroes, villains, troopers, and vehicles that you want to use. Within the Core Set alone, you already have choices to make with thirty-three miniatures, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Rebel Troopers, Stormtroopers, an AT-RT, and 74-Z Speeder Bikes.

While the Core Set gives you everything that you need for your first battles, you’ll find even more options as you expand from there. You may choose to build an army that uses swarm tactics with large numbers of troopers, or you may focus on the improved armor and firepower of vehicles, but whether you’re planning a small-scale skirmish or a pitched battle between dozens of units, the game allows you to build an army that fits the way you want to play.

The choices and customization don’t stop there, either. Every unit in Star Wars: Legion has the option for you to tweak it to fit your preferences and playstyle with upgrade cards. You may upgrade Darth Vader with the ability to throw his lightsaber, load a rotary blaster onto your AT-RT, bring heavy weapons specialists into your trooper unit, or equip your 74-Z Speeder Bikes with long-range comlinks. No matter how you upgrade your units, every upgrade card is another step to making your army different.

And of course, perhaps the most entertaining step of army building for many players is to paint and customize your miniatures! All Star Wars: Legion minis come unpainted, so after you assemble your army, you’ll be able to paint them to create a truly unique army and bring the Star Wars galaxy to your tabletop. Although you don’t need to paint your army, many players find it more enjoyable to play with a painted army—and we’ll have plenty of articles and video tutorials to support your painting in coming months, including help for beginners. Even if you’ve never played a miniatures game or painted an army before, the Star Wars: Legion Core Set is the perfect entrypoint to the hobby.

While innovative mechanics simulate the chaos of battle and the fog of war, thirty-three unpainted and easily assembled miniatures give you a blank slate to paint and create a truly unique army.

Over the course of six rounds, you must battle and maneuver your units to claim objectives. The points you gain from these objectives are your pathway to victory, and whoever has the most points at the end of the game claims victory! Whether you’re brand-new to miniatures games or a seasoned veteran, Star Wars: Legion is the perfect entrypoint to the hobby.

Innovative Order Mechanics
At the beginning of each round of Star Wars: Legion, you and your opponent select a command card from your individual hands of command cards. The card that you select determines which player acts first throughout the round, and it also lets you deliver orders to a few of your units.

Ordering a unit in the command phase simply places an order token next to that unit. Then, during the activation phase, you have a choice—activate a unit that you ordered during the command phase, or draw a random order token from your order pool, which forces you to activate a unit of the same rank. Whether you want to guarantee you strike first or hold one unit’s attack until the last possible second, your command card gives you the means to deliver orders to your most important units.

Dynamic Movement and Combat
To complete your objectives, you’ll need to lead your units into battle, maneuvering them into the perfect position and launching a crushing attack. In Star Wars: Legion, movement is fast and organic. Every unit has a speed, which dictates the movement tool that unit can use. To move a unit, you’ll line the movement tool up with the base of the unit leader and move him to any point along the tool. Then, you can pick up every miniature in the unit and place them within a short move of the unit leader, keeping movement fast-paced and interesting.

Combat in the game is equally streamlined. Every unit has one or more weapons listed along the bottom edge of its unit card. During an attack, you’ll select a weapon for each attacking miniature and add those dice to your attack pool. After you roll your attack dice, your opponent rolls a defense die for each hit that you’ve rolled and any damage that persists takes down enemy soldiers! Even if you’re attacking with a large squad, every combat roll in Star Wars: Legion keeps the game moving quickly.

• A miniatures game of thrilling infantry battles for two players
• Enter the Star Wars universe with iconic characters like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker
• Innovative mechanics for ordering your troops simulate the fog of war and the chaos of battle
• Thirty-three beautifully sculpted, easily assembled figures invite you to play as the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance

Star Wars Legion: Crashed Escape Pod Battlefield Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Crashed Escape Pod Battlefield Expansion

Sometimes, an escape pod crash-landing on a desolate desert planet is all it takes to alter the fate of the galaxy. R2-D2 and C-3PO set the classic Star Wars™ trilogy in motion when they launched themselves from the Tantive IV to the scorching hot surface of Tatooine, and soon, you can play out the early stages of their desperate mission to restore hope to the galaxy. Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce the Crashed Escape Pod Battlefield Expansion for Star Wars: Legion!

More than just a terrain piece or objectives, the unpainted, hard plastic crashed escape pod miniature and hard plastic R2-D2 and C-3PO miniatures you’ll find in this expansion are an invitation to join two of the Star Wars saga’s most iconic droids on their adventures across the galaxy. These miniatures can play a central role in two distinct scenarios outlined by six new battle cards. Alternatively, four unit cards give you the chance to add both R2-D2 and C-3PO to your Rebel or Republic armies.

The Droids You're Looking For
Escape pods are a standard feature on warships across the galaxy and when opposing troops abandon ship, it’s not uncommon for a battle to spill over to a planet’s surface. Whether your troops are investigating the wreckage or using it for cover, the escape pod miniature is this expansion is sure to enhance any battlefield, adding even more thematic flair to your Star Wars: Legion battles.

But escape pods can carry more than just ground troops. They’re also a good way to get sensitive information off a ship before it falls into the wrong hands. During these occasions, both sides are likely to do whatever they can to recover this data, including deploying troops to the crash site. As a result, the Crashed Escape Pod Battlefield Expansion also contains six battle cards that make the escape pod the focal point of two different scenarios.

In the first scenario, the escape pod makes a crash-landing on a planet’s surface at the end of Round 1, and the droids it carries become the prime objective of both armies. In the second, two droids carrying vital intel find themselves hopelessly lost in the unforgiving wilderness and both sides start a desperate search. Whoever finds and extracts the droids could well turn the tide of the war.

No matter which scenario you choose to play, the C-3PO and R2-D2 miniatures included in this Battlefield Expansion make a perfect alternative to the objective tokens found in both the Star Wars: Legion Core Set and the Clone Wars Core Set. This may help bring these iconic droids to life as objectives on your battlefields, but it is far from their only use.

C-3PO and R2-D2 formed an unbreakable bond that carried them through the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War, and this Battlefield Expansion allows you to help them carry out their secret missions as part of the Galactic Republic or the Rebel Alliance. In addition to four unit cards that invite you to add these iconic droids to your armies, three Operative command cards help R2-D2 unlock a wide variety of devices hidden within his casing.

We’ll take a closer look at everything included in the Crashed Escape Pod Battlefield Expansion, including R2-D2, C-3PO, and both scenarios, in a future preview!

On a Secret Mission
A single escape pod crashing to the surface of Tatooine set off a chain of events that changed the Star Wars galaxy forever. When the Crashed Escape Pod Battlefield Expansion is released in the first quarter of 2020, it can be the springboard for your own Star Wars: Legion stories!

Star Wars Legion: Darth Maul and Sith Probe Droids Operative Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Darth Maul and Sith Probe Droids Operative Expansion

As the Clone Wars rage on, new heroes emerge with every battle. Whether they’re a famed Jedi Knight leading their troops into battle or a simple droid relaying key intel to the rest of its army, the actions of these few could determine the outcome of the entire conflict.

Nefarious forces are at work in the shadows of the Clone Wars. As battles rage on planets across the galaxy, the Sith, once thought eradicated, plot to take their revenge on the Jedi Order and none is better at carrying out Darth Sidious’ will than Darth Maul. With his Sith Probe Droids guiding him to his targets, nothing will stop this menace from accomplishing his dark purposes.

Fueled by his hatred, Darth Maul wields his iconic double-bladed lightsaber with uncommon ferocity, using the unpredictable Juyo form of lightsaber combat to channel his own inner rage and torment into raw combat ability. His DRK-1 Sith Probe Droids make him even more dangerous by covertly observing his foes while Maul uses all of his skill as a duelist to remain elusive and deny his enemies any advantage they may have.

Maul’s unpredictable fighting style translates into his finely detailed, unpainted miniature, which can be assembled in three different poses. He can appear menacing his foes with his double-bladed lightsaber in front of him, preparing to strike with the lightsaber behind him, or with a two-handed grip on his lightsaber. He is only made stronger by his three DRK-1 Sith probe droid miniatures, his three signature command cards, and eight upgrade cards that give you the freedom to explore Maul’s hatred of the Jedi.

Star Wars Legion: Darth Vader Operative Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Darth Vader Operative Expansion

Feared by friend and foe alike, Darth Vader is the living embodiment of the Empire’s might. Before he could become one of the most fearsome field commanders in the galaxy, however, he honed his skills hunting Jedi to the far corners of the galaxy. Now, Vader is ready to carry out the Emperor’s bidding by decimating the Rebel Alliance wherever it can be found.

Whether swinging his lightsaber or harnessing his raw aggression to blast the enemy with the power of the Force, Darth Vader is an intimidating Imperial operative who can quickly scatter the Rebel forces arrayed against him. Eager to prove his worth to his master, this version of Darth Vader relentlessly pursues his prey across the battlefield, going so far as to spur himself onward to his target. Despite his combat prowess, Vader’s ability to strike fear in those who oppose him may be his strongest asset.

In the Darth Vader Operative Expansion, you’ll find an unpainted, easily assembled Darth Vader miniature in a different pose from the one found in the Star Wars: Legion Core Set. This miniature is accompanied by three new Darth Vader command cards that can be used by both the operative and commander versions of the unit, letting you tailor your strategy with either unit. Rounding out this expansion are four upgrade cards to augment Darth Vader with even more Force powers or complete his training. Like previous Star Wars: Legion releases, the miniature in this expansion is made of soft plastic and comes with its parts bagged.

Star Wars Legion: Dewback Rider Unit Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Dewback Rider Unit Expansion

The Galactic Empire rules over countless worlds, each boasting its own unique flora, fauna, and terrain. Rather than adapt their military vehicles to the conditions of every individual world, Imperial commanders commonly prefer to use local creatures to support their operations. Now, one of the most iconic creatures from the Star Wars saga is on its way to bolster your Imperial forces.

Able to survive extreme temperatures, these mighty reptilian creatures are the perfect complement to Imperial troopers during their patrols. Within this expansion, you’ll find an unpainted, beautifully detailed Dewback miniature featuring a Sandtrooper rider with four distinct customization options: your Dewback Rider can be built carrying the standard shock prod, or you can equip them with three different weapons.

On top of the ability to customize the look of your Dewback Rider, this Unit Expansion gives you plenty of ways to tweak how this unit operates in the thick of battle. Six upgrade cards accompany the miniature, letting you modify its armament, training, or the comms systems it carries into battle. Finally, a unit card and a handful of tokens round out this expansion, giving you everything you need to deploy it as a support unit for your Imperial armies. Read on for more information on the Dewback Rider Unit Expansion!

Living Tanks
From towering AT-STs to legions of Stormtroopers, the Empire can display its dominance in any number of ways, and the hulking Dewback is yet another method of reminding local populations who is truly in control. Like their fellow Imperial military units, though, Dewback Riders are far from symbolic enforcers of Imperial rule. Between the Sandtrooper rider’s array of weaponry and the powerful claws of their mount, this duo is a force to be reckoned with.

As natives of the scorching hot desert planet Tatooine, Dewbacks have developed survival mechanisms that also make them useful weapons of war. Their thick hides, for instance, may protect Dewbacks from the brutal rays of Tatooine’s twin suns, but they also provide a useful layer of armor from incoming blaster fire, especially for a target as large as a Dewback. In addition to this scaly skin, a Dewback’s claws make them particularly surefooted beasts, ideal for conveying their riders across uncertain terrain on the battlefields of the Galactic Civil War.

But these claws can be used beyond simply providing a sturdy foundation for a single trooper in battle. To the Empire, they are deadly weapons that can be used to thrash any unsuspecting enemies foolish enough to believe that Dewbacks are a docile species. Before a Dewback can unleash an attack with its claws, however, it must first close the distance. While Dewbacks commonly move at a plodding pace, they can be spurred forward to engage with enemy forces even faster.

As intimidating as they are, Dewbacks are only one half of the unit. Trained to work in tandem with the Sandtrooper riding atop them, Dewback and trooper can combine in a number of useful ways. If nothing else, the Sandtrooper carries a shock prod that makes the entire unit’s melee attack a bit stronger. But being astride a massive Dewback also provides a useful vantage point from which a trooper can make powerful ranged attacks—and they have three weapons that give them an option for every situation. Equipping your Sandtrooper with a T-21 blaster rifle or an RT-97C blaster rifle adds a new dimension to the unit, making them deadly from a distance. Alternatively, a CR-24 Flame Rifle enhances the Dewback Rider at close range, helping them uproot any subversive elements tucked behind cover.

No matter what weapons you choose, the Dewback Rider is sure to have an imposing presence on the battlefield.

Tame the Beast
With their thick skins and razor-sharp claws, Dewbacks can survive in almost any environment. When they are properly trained, these traits can be harnessed to make them just as effective as any high-tech military vehicle.

Patrol planets with the finely-detailed, beautifully detailed Dewback Rider miniature featuring four distinct customization options: your Dewback Rider can be built carrying the standard shock prod, or you can equip them with three different weapons.

Star Wars Legion: Downed AT-ST Battlefield Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Downed AT-ST Battlefield Expansion

The Imperial All Terrain Scout Transport is a formidable war machine, cutting through Rebel lines as it stomps across the battlefields of the Galactic Civil War. Despite their appearance, however, these intimidating assault vehicles aren’t invincible. Soon you’ll find out what happens when one of these towering terrors comes crashing down.

Rather than marching forward and raining mortar shells on the hapless Rebels in its path, the wrecked AT-ST you’ll find in this expansion joins the fabric of the battlefield itself, providing valuable cover for your troops no matter what planet they’re fighting on. In addition to deepening your immersion in the Star Wars galaxy, the six new battle cards in this expansion also invite you to make your crashed AT-ST a focal point of the struggle between the Empire and the Rebellion, adding even more variety to your games of Star Wars: Legion.

Forward Flashpoint
From the tight back alleys of Mos Eisley spaceport to the lush forests of Endor, terrain forms the canvas for your Star Wars: Legion battles, affecting everything—from where you deploy your forces to the very strategies you employ once your troops are on the battlefield. With a finely detailed miniature representing an AT-ST that has crashed and crumpled into a rocky battlefield, the Downed AT-ST Battlefield Expansion can become an exciting and thematic centerpiece to any confrontation.

A downed AT-ST is certain to draw the attention of both Rebel and Imperial troops, of course, and while this miniature can enhance any battlefield you find yourself on, it can also play a larger role as a crucial objective in a totally new type of conflict. The Downed AT-ST Battlefield Expansion contains six new battle cards that dramatize a two-act struggle over a wrecked AT-ST, outlining the objectives, deployments, and conditions of a brand-new, two-part scenario.

As the scenario opens, a lone AT-ST on a recon mission has gathered important intel on the location of an underground Rebel bunker before being shot down by Alliance starfighters. Desperate to Secure the Intel , the first act sees both players racing toward the downed AT-ST to extract this crucial information before it can fall into enemy hands. But as Forces Converge on the crash site, this confrontation is sure to escalate quickly. As it does, the weight of your choices can be felt throughout your army, as each unique unit that is defeated in Act 1 and each unique upgrade equipped to a defeated unit in Act 1 becomes unavailable to you during Act 2.

Between the beautiful downed AT-ST miniature itself and six new battle cards, the Downed AT-ST Battlefield Expansion alters the landscape of your games of Star Wars: Legion while opening up an epic new way to play.

Into the Breach
Even without the use of its powerful MS-4 Twin Blaster Cannons and other heavy weapons, an AT-ST can still play a pivotal role in the confrontations between the Empire and the Rebellion—especially if it’s a part of the battlefield itself.

Star Wars Legion: E-Web Heavy Blaster Team Unit Expansion
Star Wars Legion: E-Web Heavy Blaster Team Unit Expansion

Imperial troops are known for their relentless assaults, pressing the attack even in the face of the strongest Rebel resistance. But when the Empire really wants to bring the fight to the Rebels, it calls in its heavy blaster teams. Bridging the gap between lightly armed trooper units and the heavy AT-ST, an E-Web Heavy Blaster Team gives you even more options for rounding out your Imperial army.

The E-Web Heavy Blaster Team Unit Expansion expands the possibilities for your games of Star Wars: Legion with an unpainted, easily assembled E-Web Heavy Blaster Team miniature that you can field as a support unit. Additionally, three upgrade cards let you customize your heavy blaster team, improving its communications or modifying its power generator to create new ways to attack.

Heavy Fire
The addition of an E-Web Heavy Blaster Team to your Imperial forces immediately gives you new options when selecting the support units that will join your ground troops. While 74-Z speeder bikes whip across the battlefield with lightning speed in an attempt to flank or strafe the enemy, an E-Web team takes a decidedly direct approach, raining heavy fire upon any units that dare approach.

Among Imperial units, an E-Web Heavy Blaster Team is only surpassed by the AT-ST in terms of raw firepower. The heavy blaster rolls a red, two black, and two white attack dice, all for significantly fewer points than the walker. Better still, an E-Web Heavy Blaster Team won’t lose any attack dice as it takes wounds, unlike the more frail corps units.

But an E-Web heavy blaster is a heavy piece of equipment. Between their thick armor, the heavy blaster itself, and its generator, the team moves at a plodding pace. Already limited to using the shortest of Star Wars: Legion’s jointed movement tools, the E-Web Heavy Blaster Team can only perform one move action during its activation, and it cannot move and fire during the same activation.

This may seem like a serious limitation, but it frees the E-Web team to move and take the standby action during its activation. Thanks to the Sentinel keyword extending its standby range to three, a well-positioned E-Web Heavy Blaster Team still has the opportunity to attack—or at least make opposing units think twice before coming within range. A strategically placed E-Web Heavy Blaster Team can lay down the covering fire your other troopers need to move in and secure key positions on the battlefield.

The E-Web team’s position is even more important when you consider that its attack are fixed to its front arc, making it vulnerable to flanking maneuvers by enemy units. The team isn’t totally out of luck if a Rebel unit manages to get the drop on them, though. They can always use their E-11 blaster rifles to return fire with two white attack dice. Still, if you've laid your plans correctly, this won't be too much of an issue, as the E-Web heavy blaster is surprisingly maneuverable once it’s in place. It can fully pivot when needed and can even reposition itself immediately before or after moving, ensuring that it will not easily be caught unawares.

Like the 1.4 FD Laser Cannon Team Unit Expansion, the E-Web Heavy Blaster Team also features upgrades that allow you to modify the blaster’s power generator however you see fit. If you anticipate facing waves of foot soldiers, a Barrage Generator can give you the suppressive fire you need to pin them in place. If enemy vehicles are headed your way, on the other hand, you can equip an Overcharged Generator to give the E-Web the power it needs to crack through their armor. Finally, being in close contact with headquarters is always important and an HQ Uplink can help keep the E-Web Heavy Blaster Team in the loop with your army’s plans at crucial moments.

Imperial Strength
With an E-Web Heavy Blaster Team in your army, you can show your enemies the true power of the Empire. Assemble your blaster teams and bring the fight to the Rebel doorstep!

Star Wars Legion: Emperor Palpatine Commander Expansion
Star Wars Legion: Emperor Palpatine Commander Expansion

The Galactic Empire encompasses countless star systems, ruling over the galaxy with an iron fist. Sitting at its head is Emperor Palpatine. As the ultimate ruler of the Empire, all bow before him, even the fearsome Darth Vader. A brilliant manipulator who almost singlehandedly orchestrated the fall of the Jedi order and his own rise to power, the Emperor makes a perfect addition to Star Wars: Legion as a commander of the Imperial forces.

Within the Emperor Palpatine Commander Expansion you’ll find everything you need to add Emperor Palpatine to your army as a commander—leading the Imperial forces on his own or alongside another Imperial commander such as his apprentice, Darth Vader. A single unpainted, easily assembled miniature depicts a cloaked Emperor Palpatine plotting his next move, while three upgrade cards allow you to tap into his mastery of the dark side of the Force. Finally, three new command cards give you more options for determining your battle plans, letting you make use of the Emperor’s abilities as a master strategist.

Release Your Anger
With the Emperor Palpatine Commander Expansion, Emperor Palpatine can take his place as the supreme commander of the game’s Imperial forces. In this capacity, he can join fellow Imperial commanders Darth Vader or General Veers on the battlefield, showing your opponent the true power of the dark side with fellow Force user Darth Vader or bringing the weight of the Imperial legions to bear against the enemy alongside General Veers. Either way, Emperor Palpatine combines powerful combat potential with his status as ruler of the Galactic Empire to mobilize his troops on an unmatched scale.

Despite what his frail appearance might suggest, Emperor Palpatine is more than capable of doling out damage. His command over the dark side is so strong that he can use it to summon powerful Force Lightning to strike down any opponents that threaten him, even those who attempt to engage him in melee combat. These attacks are so intense they easily pierce through the enemy’s defenses and rival the AT-ST in sheer destructive power.

Emperor Palpatine is undoubtedly powerful, but that does not mean he isn’t vulnerable. He moves at a plodding pace, making him an easy target for enemy units that are more fleet of foot. To get close enough to launch an attack, however, these units will inevitably have to contend with the Emperor's Royal Guard. His position as the head of the Empire means the Emperor is afforded special protections, and he allows you to ignore the rank of one unit of these elite warriors when building your army, freeing space for you to include other special forces units.

With a powerful attack that influences the flow of the battle around him and abilities that bend the rules of army-building, Emperor Palpatine clearly enjoys extending his control to every aspect of Star Wars: Legion and this control even stretches to your overarching strategy through his three signature command cards. The Emperor commands vast amounts of power, both with the Force and through the military strength of the Empire, and his command cards let him tap into both. When he needs it, for example, Emperor Palpatine has An Entire Legion of troops at his beck and call, ready to strike exactly when he wants them to.

Fulfill Your Destiny
Emperor Palpatine sits at the head of a galaxy-spanning empire with unfathomable amounts of power at his fingertips. Soon, you’ll be able to bring this power to bear in your games of Star Wars: Legion.
